Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in all kitchen areas
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
  • Educate and guide junior staff or trainees on proper sushi techniques and presentation skills
  • Manage ingredient inventory, ensuring freshness and proper storage of seafood and other supplies
  • Follow recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency across all dishes
  • Assist in menu development by suggesting innovative sushi creations that appeal to diverse tastes

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine
  • Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including knife skills and seafood handling
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Knowledge of food safety standards is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
  • Secondary(high) school graduation certificate is required. Formal culinary training is an asset.
