Why we need this role

The Supplier Relationship Manager (SRM) is responsible for the effective management of strategic supplier relationships in support of Colt Technology Services’ operational, financial, commercial and service delivery objectives. The role-holder will ensure that third-party suppliers perform in line with contractual commitments, service expectations and governance requirements, while driving continuous improvement, mitigating risk and delivering sustainable business value. The postholder will work closely with internal stakeholders across Procurement, Legal, Finance, Technology and Operations to maintain effective supplier oversight and support delivery against business priorities

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with strategic suppliers to support the delivery of Colt Technology Services’ business, operational and customer objectives.
  • Monitor supplier performance against agreed key performance indicators, service level agreements and contractual obligations, and lead regular performance and service review meetings.
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities with suppliers to enhance service quality, resilience, innovation and cost effectiveness.
  • Work in partnership with internal stakeholders, including Procurement, Legal, Finance, Technology and Operations, to support supplier selection, onboarding, governance and contract lifecycle activities.
  • Identify, assess and manage supplier-related risks, including operational, commercial, regulatory, resilience and business continuity risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation plans are in place.
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for supplier performance issues, service concerns and disputes, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify \& execute contract renewals, renegotiations and commercial discussions to secure value for money and maintain required service standards.
  • Ensure supplier governance, assurance and due diligence activities are completed and maintained in accordance with internal policy, control requirements and applicable standards.
  • Prepare and present regular reporting, analysis and recommendations on supplier performance, trends, risks and improvement actions.
  • Foster collaborative and professional supplier relationships that promote accountability, transparency and long-term strategic value

  • Consistent improvement in supplier performance against agreed service, operational and commercial targets.
  • Effective identification and mitigation of supplier-related risks, with timely resolution of escalations and issues.
  • Delivery of measurable service improvement and cost optimisation initiatives through effective supplier management.
  • Strong levels of internal stakeholder confidence in supplier governance, oversight and service delivery performance.
  • Development of professional, well-governed supplier relationships that support Colt Technology Services’ strategic objectives.

What we're looking for

  • Demonstrable experience in supplier relationship management, vendor management, procurement, commercial management or contract management.
  • Strong understanding of supplier governance, performance management frameworks, key performance indicators, service level agreements and service improvement planning.
  • Experience within a telecommunications, technology, digital infrastructure or managed services environment would be advantageous.
  • Sound commercial awareness, with the ability to drive negotiations and balance considerations of cost, risk and service performance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and work effectively across cross-functional and international teams.
  • Strong analytical capability, including the ability to interpret supplier performance data, identify trends and provide clear recommendations.
  • Effective problem-solving, escalation management and conflict resolution skills.
  • Good understanding of operational risk, compliance, resilience and supplier assurance processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism, personal accountability and attention to detail.

Qualifications:

  • Degree, or equivalent in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline is preferred
  • Direct and applicable work experience in a carrier relations environment
  • Relevant professional qualifications in procurement, supplier management or contract management would be beneficial.
  • Fluent written and spoken English
