Study Host/ Lab Assistant (In Person in SF)

About The Lab

Alegria is a neurotech startup building new ways of talking to your computer and expressing yourself directly with your brain. We've built a research prototype that uses ultrasound to see inside the brain. We're running a large research study to test the device and collect data for training artificial intelligence models.

The Role

We are looking for a study host who has the warmth and experience of working with people to help us run our study. If you have experience as a barista, server, or in retail, you already have the skills we need: We prioritize emotional intelligence: the ability to read a room, anticipate needs, and make participants feel safe.

What You'll Actually Do:

- Greet participants and explain the study process simply and warmly. You are the face of the lab.

- You will physically place the neurotech headset on participants and adjust sensors to target specific brain regions. We will train you on exactly how to do this.

- You will run the study protocol on a computer and answer any questions the participant has.

- Once the study starts, you keep an eye on the data and the participant to make sure everything is running smoothly.

Who You Are

- You are warm, friendly, and observant. You can tell if someone is nervous or uncomfortable and know how to fix it.

- You are comfortable learning new software and handling expensive equipment with care.

- You are reliable. Our studies are scheduled tight. We need people we can count on.

Requirements

- Service industry or customer-facing experience is a huge plus.

- Excellent English verbal communication skills.
