About the Role
The Structural Heart Clinical Nurse Consultant is responsible for coordinating the structural heart program which includes: transcatheter aortic valve implantation, transcatheter mitral valve edge-to-edge repair, PFO/ASD and LAA closure, and other related structural heart procedures.
This position is responsible for overseeing the timely screening and preparation of patients referred to the service and plays a central role in the planning and scheduling of procedures, ensuring the patient, multidisciplinary team, and devices are available. The Structural Heart Nurse is the primary point of contact for patients, the multidisciplinary team, and industry support teams. They provide education, monitor peri- and post- procedural outcomes, and complete patient follow up.
Classifications for this position will range from ZA7 - ZA8 ($119,324 - $122,163 per annum; pro rata.)

About Cardiac Investigation Unit
Situated at St Vincent’s Fitzroy campus, the Structural Heart Clinical Nurse Consultant will work across inpatient and outpatient settings.
The Cardiac Investigation Unit (CIU) encompasses two Cardiac Catheter Laboratories, multipurpose clinical spaces and shared office and administration areas. 4 West is an acute inpatient ward comprising of 6 Coronary Care beds and 12 general Cardiology beds. Heart Centre and Specialist clinics are outpatient departments offering multi-disciplinary structural heart clinics.
