Job Description

We are looking for a good kiwi battler who is as comfortable leaning on a farm gate and talking all things rural as they are in the yard and showroom exploring customer's projects.

Strong relationships are at the heart of what we do, you'll be leading a small team that aims to do the leg work that makes things happen for rural producers.

You won't be stuck in one place buried in paperwork but rather you'll be free to get out on farms to understand customer's projects and get to see them through to completion whilst building lasting customer relationships backed and supported by a national team.

About the Role

Goldpine Oamaru is part of our network of twenty-two retail stores strategically placed across the regions, Goldpine carries big stocks of product produced at our three production sites to ensure we always have a range of product options available to keep rural NZ moving.

Goldpine yards and showrooms are full of exclusive brands developed with our customers' needs front of mind. Superpost®, Rhino®, Strongbuilt®, Ned's Sheds®, Ecoliving®, GOFENCE® and RainStopper® are just some of the exclusive and innovative products you'll find at Goldpine.

We don't drive flash double cab utes and wear office shoes, at Goldpine we always have a load of gear on the back of the flat-deck for our next stop and boots on our feet that have seen some mud, and we always shut the farm gate behind us, this is because we understand our customers and their needs.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Match our rural customer dedication and passion to producing and supplying natural products.
  • Be able to converse with and understand our customer base about all things farming.
  • Take pride in site presentation and customer service.
  • Be able to lead and motivate a small team to achieve customer service excellence.
  • Be the sort of character that can get on with and relate to a wide range of people.
  • Plan, and be flexible, to ensure day to day store operations run smoothly.
  • Have a commitment to safe work practices, including a current full drivers licence and a physical fitness appropriate for lifting timber products.

From fence posts and accessories to farm buildings and furniture, we are very proudly Kiwi-owned and have built a solid reputation for providing high quality products for outdoor use.

We have purposely stuck to what we do best - being Outdoor Timber Specialists specialising in posts, poles, wire products, electric fencing, kitset farm buildings, treated sawn timber, treated plywood, outdoor furniture and a few important support products like cement, fasteners and tools.
