Department: People & Organisation Development (POD), Institute of Mental Health (IMH)

Join us in Adding Years of Healthy Life Through Life-Changing Careers, Where Passion Meets Purpose. Make a meaningful difference whilst growing in a supportive environment that nurtures your wellbeing and career aspirations

Job Description:
The Senior Assistant Manager / Manager, Education Technology plays a pivotal role in advancing IMH's position as a regional leader in mental health education. You will drive the digital transformation of our educational programmes, scan the landscape for emerging technologies and online mental health training resources, and build the technical and instructional design capabilities that enable POD to deliver high-quality, scalable learning experiences — from internal clinical staff to external regional partners across Asia. The incumbent may be required to lead and manage a small team as the department grows.

Job Responsibilities:
Digital Module Development and Conversion

Lead and manage the conversion of existing programmes into digital and hybrid formats

Work with subject matter experts and clinician-educators to design effective online learning experiences, including videos, interactive modules, quizzes, and readings

Integrate digital learning materials into the learning management system (Maivenpoint) and ensure content is accessible and user-friendly

Develop and maintain a conversion playbook to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across all digitalisation projects

Redesign face-to-face sessions in hybrid programmes to focus on application, discussion, and interaction rather than content delivery

Videography and Multimedia Production

Plan, film, and edit educational videos for use in digital and hybrid learning modules, ensuring production quality is appropriate for a professional healthcare education context

Manage the end-to-end video production process, including scripting, storyboarding, filming, editing, and post-production

Operate videography equipment and editing software to produce engaging, high-quality learning content

Work with clinician-educators and subject matter experts to translate complex clinical content into compelling video-based learning materials

Maintain a library of video assets and ensure content is kept current and relevant

Environmental Scanning and Resource Curation

Systematically scan the landscape for emerging education technologies, online mental health training tools, and digital learning innovations, including adaptive learning, virtual reality simulations, gamification, microlearning, AI-assisted learning, and learning analytics

Evaluate the relevance and potential value of new tools and resources for mental health education contexts

Maintain a curated, up-to-date repository of quality online mental health training materials for sharing with internal and external audiences

Benchmark against best practices in digital and hybrid learning from peer institutions locally and regionally

Tiered Service Model and Capability Building

Implement and manage a tiered service model for education technology requests, focusing team expertise on complex, high-value work whilst enabling other departments to handle simpler conversions independently

Develop training materials, guidelines, and support structures to build digital conversion capability across IMH departments

Provide ongoing coaching and technical support to departmental staff undertaking their own digitisation work

Intake, Prioritisation, and Stakeholder Management

Establish and manage a formal intake and prioritisation process for education technology requests, using a structured framework that considers strategic importance, urgency, revenue implications, and resource requirements

Maintain a tracking system that provides visibility into the team's current workload and upcoming commitments

Communicate clearly and proactively with stakeholders on timelines, prioritisation decisions, and delivery expectations

Provide regular reporting to senior management on the Education Technology team's work and capacity

Educator Readiness and Support

Develop and deliver an educator readiness programme to prepare clinician-educators for hybrid and digital delivery, covering technology platforms, pedagogical approaches, and facilitation techniques

Provide ongoing technical and pedagogical support to educators throughout the conversion and delivery process

Facilitate a community of practice where educators share experiences and learn from one another

Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement

Establish and oversee quality assurance processes for all digital and hybrid modules, including student and educator feedback surveys, focus groups, and learning outcomes analysis

Systematically implement improvements based on feedback and data, and conduct periodic reviews to ensure content remains current and effective

Collaborate with academic partners such as NUS DGMS to monitor whether digital formats are achieving intended learning outcomes

Digital Learning Innovation

Identify, pilot, and evaluate innovative digital learning approaches to keep IMH's programmes engaging, effective, and competitive

Stay current with developments in the field through conferences, courses, and professional networks, and share learnings with the broader POD team

Documentation and Knowledge Management

Maintain thorough documentation of technical solutions, conversion processes, and workflows to reduce dependency on individual expertise

Contribute to the development and upkeep of AI chatbots and knowledge repositories that support sustainable team operations

Team Leadership (where applicable)

Lead, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture

Allocate work across the team effectively, balancing individual development needs with operational priorities

Support team members' professional growth through coaching, feedback, and opportunities for stretch assignments

Model a learning mindset and encourage knowledge sharing within the team and across POD

Tools and Platforms

Articulate (e-authoring)

Maivenpoint (LMS)

Videography equipment and video editing software

Other education technology and workflow automation tools as required

Requirements:
Competency

Strong instructional design skills with the ability to translate complex clinical content into engaging digital learning experiences

Proficiency in e-authoring tools (Articulate) and learning management systems (Maivenpoint); familiarity with other education technology platforms is a plus

Hands-on videography skills, including filming, editing, and post-production, with an eye for visual storytelling in an educational context

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities and deadlines

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both clinical and non-clinical colleagues

Self-directed and resourceful, with a learning mindset and genuine curiosity about emerging technologies

Motivated to build capability in others, not just deliver outputs independently

Leadership qualities with the ability to guide and develop team members where required

A genuine interest in mental health and commitment to improving mental health education outcomes

Educational and Professional Requirements

Degree in instructional design, educational technology, learning and development, communications, or a related field

At least 4–6 years of relevant experience (Senior Assistant Manager)
