This posting is for an existing vacancy within Lais Hotel Properties Limited.

*Please note this is a 12 month contract*

Position Summary: Manage and administer the daily operations of the hotel Spa to ensure that the level of guest satisfaction meets or exceed the Company’s Quality Standards as set forth in the Company mission statement while maximizing revenues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Providing personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity
  • Meeting established up-selling and sales goals
  • Ensures that the level of service performed by the Spa is characteristic of a four-diamond hotel rating in our unique spa environment
  • Conduct research and performs competitive analysis on main competitors
  • Develop a management strategy that will support LHPL long-range business goals and objectives
  • Position Spa in the market taking into consideration price, promotion, packaging, competition, and marketplace needs
  • In conjunction with the LHPL marketing department, devise a marketing plan
  • Create a retail sales plan
  • Schedules all contract personnel/concierges/supervisors
  • Develop and maintain Spa Operating Procedures Manual
  • Responsible for human resources functions of the spa including, hiring, training, disciplining, and monitoring of Spa Team Members
  • Secures the necessary Service Contractors to provide professional treatments
  • Ensures required Service Contractors are available to maximize bookings and revenues
  • Develops annual department operating budget
  • Monitors revenue and expenses on a daily basis to ensure that budgetary requirements are being attained or exceeded
  • Track Guests and members treatment records
  • Monitors inventory levels and ensure adequate supplies are available
  • Proactive and timely reporting of any maintenance deficiencies to the Maintenance Department and thorough follow-up
  • Liaise with Vice President of Finance and Administration & Managing Director regarding monthly occupancy reports and forecasts
  • Having a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties’ products and services
  • Actively seeking new ways to meet Guests’ product or service needs

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Attends and contributes to Management meetings
  • Filling Duty Manager shifts when required
  • All other duties as assigned

Professional Requirements:

  • Possesses the expertise and knowledge of Spa Operations
  • Minimum of two years hands-on experience in a comparable Spa environment
  • Strong computer background
  • Knowledge of hotel programs such as Maestro
  • Basic accounting principles such as Accounts Payable/Receivable and Cash Receipts
  • Understanding of budgetary concepts and financial management
  • Previous up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an asset
  • Second language beneficial but not a requirement
