The Role

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join a high-performing cybersecurity and technology transformation team.

This is a strategic architecture and advisory role focused on strengthening enterprise resilience, infrastructure security, and cyber defence capabilities. Acting as the design authority across a portfolio of Secure \& Run initiatives, you will provide architecture leadership, technical governance, and strategic guidance to project teams, security stakeholders, and senior management.

You will play a key role in delivering critical resilience and cybersecurity programs, including VMware Lifecycle Management, Storage and Ransomware Resilience, DevSecOps Resilience, and other security-focused initiatives. The role requires a strong blend of architectural expertise, stakeholder engagement, governance, and technology leadership across enterprise environments.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience as a Solution Architect, Design Authority, or Technical Lead, with a proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure, resilience, and cybersecurity programs within large enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

Provide solution architecture leadership across Secure \& Run and cybersecurity initiatives.

Act as the primary design authority for infrastructure resilience, security, and operational improvement programs.

Develop solution architectures, technical designs, roadmaps, and implementation strategies aligned to business and security objectives.

Support the delivery of key initiatives including:

VMware Lifecycle Management

Storage and Ransomware Resilience

DevSecOps Resilience

Cybersecurity uplift and transformation programs

Provide architectural guidance and governance to project teams, engineers, security specialists, and technology stakeholders.

Review and approve solution designs, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and operational objectives.

Work closely with the Head of Security Engineering, Cyber Program Manager, and technology delivery teams to drive successful project outcomes.

Assess technology risks, dependencies, and impacts across infrastructure, applications, networks, and enterprise services.

Support architecture reviews, technical workshops, design forums, and governance processes.

Create and maintain architecture documentation, design artefacts, decision records, and implementation plans.

Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define requirements and translate them into practical technology solutions.

Contribute to resilience, security, recovery, and operational readiness strategies across critical technology platforms.

Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on technology resilience, cyber maturity, and operational effectiveness.

What You'll Need

Experience as a Solution Architect, Design Principal, Technical Lead, Enterprise Architect, or Senior Technical Team Leader within large enterprise environments.

Deep expertise in designing and delivering solutions related to:

Cybersecurity

Infrastructure Resilience

Ransomware Protection

DevSecOps

VMware Platforms

Operational Risk Reduction

Strong understanding of enterprise technology environments, including:

Servers

Applications

Networks

Storage Platforms

Infrastructure Services

Cloud and Hybrid Environments

Proven experience providing architectural leadership, design governance, and technical assurance across complex projects and programs.

Strong ability to engage with senior stakeholders, project teams, security leaders, and technical specialists.

Experience developing architecture documentation, design artefacts, standards, and governance frameworks.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Hands-on experience using Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Confluence.

Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies and task management platforms such as:

Azure DevOps

Jira

Experience working with collaboration and information management platforms, including:

Microsoft Teams

SharePoint

Confluence

Desirable Skills

Experience within banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.

Knowledge of security frameworks, cyber resilience standards, and enterprise architecture methodologies.

Experience supporting ransomware resilience, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity initiatives.

Understanding of infrastructure modernisation and cloud transformation programs.

Experience working within enterprise cybersecurity uplift or transformation projects.

Knowledge of governance, risk, compliance, and technology assurance processes.

Experience facilitating architecture review boards, design governance forums, and technical decision-making processes.

Relevant industry certifications such as TOGAF, SABSA, CISSP, Azure, VMware, or equivalent.
