About Star Gallery Mart

Star Gallery Mart is a growing retail and e-commerce company in the UAE, operating through multiple retail branches, our e-commerce website, and mobile application.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Software Test Engineer / QA Engineer to ensure the quality, functionality, performance, and stability of our website, mobile application, admin systems, and other software platforms.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in manual software testing, preparing test cases and test scenarios, identifying and documenting bugs, regression testing, performance testing, and working closely with developers throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and understand software requirements, product specifications, and user stories.
• Prepare detailed test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts.
• Create, enhance, debug, maintain, and execute test cases.
• Perform thorough manual testing of web applications, mobile applications, admin systems, and related software.
• Test applications across different browsers, devices, operating systems, and screen sizes.
• Identify, reproduce, document, and report software bugs with clear steps, screenshots, videos, logs, and supporting information when required.
• Track reported bugs throughout the complete defect lifecycle, from identification until resolution and closure.
• Perform regression testing and re-testing after bug fixes, updates, and new releases.
• Conduct functional, integration, usability, compatibility, and end-to-end testing.
• Execute load, stress, and performance testing to evaluate application stability, response time, and scalability.
• Prepare clear performance testing reports and highlight performance issues or bottlenecks.
• Test APIs and integrations where required, including third-party services and internal systems.
• Verify that new features meet the approved requirements before deployment.
• Monitor and continuously improve the software testing and QA process.
• Identify testing gaps, recurring defects, and areas where quality processes can be improved.
• Document testing results and maintain accurate QA documentation and quality metrics.
• Provide clear feedback to developers and relevant stakeholders regarding product quality and release readiness.
• Work closely with developers to reproduce issues and verify fixes.
• Coordinate with the development team to ensure testing phases are completed on time for each software release.
• Help ensure critical bugs and issues are identified before software is released to customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Software Testing / Quality Assurance.
• Previous experience as a Software Tester, QA Engineer, or QA Analyst.
• Strong practical experience with manual software testing.
• Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Understanding of different software testing methodologies and techniques.
• Experience preparing professional test cases, test scenarios, bug reports, and QA documentation.
• Experience using standard bug/defect tracking tools.
• Knowledge of regression, functional, integration, usability, compatibility, and performance testing.
• Experience testing both web and mobile applications is preferred.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments is preferred.
• Basic understanding of API testing is an advantage.
• Experience with load, stress, or performance testing tools is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify issues that may affect the customer experience.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to clearly explain technical issues and reproduce bugs for developers.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with developers and other teams.

We are looking for someone who does not simply test whether a feature works, but carefully checks the complete customer journey and identifies functionality, usability, compatibility, performance, and stability issues before they reach customers.

The candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working closely with developers in a fast-moving e-commerce environment.
