ATM Squad - Payments Tribe
At ASB, we’re focused on helping our customers get One Step Ahead by building and supporting technology that underpins everyday banking for New Zealanders.
Our platforms don’t serve ads or stream movies – they support real customers, real money, and real‑world services. One of those is our nationwide ATM network, and we’re looking for a Software Engineer – Testing to join our ATM Squad within the Payments Tribe.
About the role
ASB manages and maintains 350+ ATM machines across Aotearoa New Zealand, forming a critical part of our customer offering.
This role has a strong focus on hands‑on, manual testing in a complex systems environment. You’ll be involved in testing changes across physical ATM machines, validating vendor‑delivered software, and supporting both BAU and project work. While you’ll be exposed to modern engineering and automation practices, this is not an automation‑heavy role and is best suited to someone who enjoys system and integration testing.
You’ll work as part of a small squad within the Engineering Practice, operating in an agile way and contributing to decisions around prioritisation and quality. Over the next 12–24 months, the ATM environment will undergo significant transformation, offering the opportunity to build experience in a large‑scale enterprise platform.
What you’ll be doing
