About Immersive Design

Immersive Design is a Nanaimo-based architectural design, drafting, landscape design, and 3D visualization company serving clients throughout British Columbia. Our work ranges from custom homes and renovations to landscape design, architectural visualization, and immersive 3D presentations. We produce high-quality renders and visual content throughout the design process, but we're looking for someone to tell the story of our projects, from the initial design and visualization through to the finished build. We're looking for a creative, motivated Social Media Marketing Specialist / Content Creator to take ownership of our social media presence and help us consistently put our work in front of new audiences.

The Role

This is a hands-on content creation and social media position.

You'll work with our team to turn our projects into engaging photo, video, and social media content. This will include using our existing architectural renders and project material, as well as visiting completed projects to capture professional-quality photos and videos.

We've found that content featuring the real, completed builds of our designs generates particularly strong engagement, so photography and videography are an important part of this position.

Our goal is to dramatically increase the consistency of our social media presence. At minimum, we'd like to publish new content weekly, with the goal of posting several times per week or even daily when there is enough quality content available.

We're not interested in posting filler simply to meet a quota. We want someone who can find interesting ways to consistently showcase our work.

Responsibilities

l Plan, create, schedule, and publish content across our social media platforms

l Develop a consistent social media content schedule and strategy

l Create engaging posts, Reels, short-form videos, Stories, and other content

l Visit completed Immersive Design projects throughout Nanaimo and surrounding areas to capture high-quality photos and videos

l Photograph architecture, interiors, landscapes, and completed construction in a professional and visually appealing way

l Film and edit short-form video content suitable for Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms l Turn architectural renders, drawings, before-and-after material, construction progress, and completed projects into engaging content

l Write captions and supporting copy that fit the Immersive Design brand

l Identify opportunities to create content around active projects and completed builds

l Help grow our following, reach, engagement, and local brand awareness

l Monitor content performance and use those results to improve future posts

l Stay current with social media trends, formats, and platform changes

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who is equally comfortable behind a camera and behind a computer.

• Experience creating and managing social media content
• Strong photography and videography skills
• Experience editing photos and short-form video
• A strong eye for composition, lighting, architecture, design, and visual storytelling
• An understanding of Instagram, Facebook, Reels, Stories, and other social content formats
• The ability to work independently and consistently generate content ideas
• Strong written communication skills
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel locally to photograph completed projects
• The ability to coordinate with our team and occasionally with homeowners, builders, or other project contacts when capturing content

Experience with architectural photography, real estate photography, interior design, construction, landscape design, or architecture-related content would be a major asset.

Experience with drones and aerial photo/video is also an asset.

Location

We're ideally looking for someone based in Nanaimo or the surrounding Central Vancouver Island area. This position can include remote work for editing, planning, scheduling, and social media management, but the successful candidate needs to be available for on-site photography and videography of completed projects.

Our projects are primarily located throughout Nanaimo and surrounding Vancouver Island communities, with some projects elsewhere in British Columbia.

We're looking for someone who can take that material, combine it with high-quality real-world photography and video, and turn it into a consistent stream of compelling content.
