Job Summary
Centerway Corporate Development \& Innovation W.L.L. is seeking an experienced, technically capable, and commercially focused Senior Smart Building Projects Manager to lead the planning and delivery of smart-building, building-automation, energy-management, and connected-infrastructure projects in Doha, Qatar.
You will manage projects from feasibility and design coordination through procurement, installation, systems integration, testing, commissioning, handover, and post-completion support. Working with clients, consultants, contractors, technology vendors, engineers, and facility-management teams, you will ensure each project meets its technical, financial, operational, and contractual objectives.
This senior position is ideal for a project professional with experience in smart buildings, building management systems, low-current systems, Internet of Things technology, energy efficiency, or integrated building services.
What You’ll Do
- Lead multiple smart-building and intelligent-infrastructure projects from initiation through completion
- Develop project scopes, implementation strategies, budgets, schedules, resource plans, and risk registers
- Manage smart-building technologies, including building management systems, energy-management systems, IoT sensors, lighting controls, and connected devices
- Coordinate the integration of HVAC controls, electrical systems, access control, CCTV, fire and life-safety interfaces, and other low-current systems
- Review technical proposals, drawings, specifications, points lists, system architecture, network requirements, and method statements
- Lead design coordination with consultants, architects, MEP engineers, contractors, systems integrators, and technology providers
- Oversee procurement, technical evaluations, vendor selection, equipment approvals, delivery schedules, and subcontractor appointments
- Manage installation, programming, configuration, testing, commissioning, integration, and system handover activities
- Ensure interoperability between building systems, software platforms, devices, gateways, and communication protocols
- Monitor project costs, schedules, quality, risks, variations, milestones, and contractual deliverables
- Ensure work complies with approved designs, client standards, applicable regulations, and company procedures
- Coordinate cybersecurity, network resilience, user-access controls, data governance, and smart-building system security requirements
- Oversee functional testing, integrated systems testing, snagging, performance validation, and final acceptance
- Develop project dashboards, progress reports, technical documentation, operation manuals, and executive presentations
- Resolve technical conflicts, integration issues, programme delays, and supplier-performance concerns
- Manage client communications, project meetings, change requests, and stakeholder expectations
- Support commercial teams with pricing, variations, claims, forecasting, invoicing, and project profitability
- Ensure project teams maintain strong health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Develop standard project-delivery procedures, reporting tools, and quality-assurance controls
- Support business development, tender submissions, technical presentations, and smart-building solution design
- Identify new technologies and innovation opportunities that improve energy efficiency, occupant experience, asset performance, and operational visibility
Requirements
- Significant experience managing smart-building, building-automation, systems-integration, MEP, or technology-led construction projects
- Proven experience delivering complex projects involving multiple contractors, vendors, consultants, and client stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of building management systems, energy-management systems, IoT platforms, controls, and connected-building technology
- Understanding of HVAC controls, lighting controls, metering, access control, CCTV, fire-system interfaces, and low-current systems
- Familiarity with common building-automation communication protocols and systems-integration principles
- Experience reviewing technical drawings, specifications, controls architecture, points schedules, and method statements
- Strong project-planning, budgeting, procurement, risk-management, and contract-administration skills
- Experience managing testing, commissioning, systems integration, handover, and performance verification
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management abilities
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage budgets, variations, suppliers, and project profitability
- Understanding of smart-building cybersecurity, data protection, network design, or system-access management is advantageous
- Knowledge of energy efficiency, sustainability, green-building standards, or building-performance optimisation is beneficial
- Experience working in Qatar or the Gulf region is advantageous
- A degree in electrical engineering, electronics, mechanical engineering, building-services engineering, automation, information technology, or a related discipline is preferred
- Project-management, building-automation, energy-management, or sustainability qualifications are advantageous
- Equivalent senior-level project and technical experience will also be considered
