What will you contribute ?

Reporting to the Senior Manager , Systems Management and Engineering , the Site Reliability Engineer will design, build, and maintain Azure-based cloud infrastructure and developer platforms that enable our engineering teams to deliver high-quality software products efficiently. This role focuses on a PaaS-forward, cloud-native approach to infrastructure, emphasizing containerization, managed services, and infrastructure automation. You will support both modern cloud-native workloads and legacy virtual machine infrastructure as we continue our cloud transformation journey. This is an entry-level position ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals passionate about Azure cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities \& Deliverables:

Your deliverables as a Site Reliability Engineer will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform to provision and manage Azure cloud resources with a PaaS-forward approach
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters and containerized applications
  • Maintain and patch virtual machines (Windows) including self-hosted build agents for Azure DevOps
  • Apply security patches and updates to both Windows and Linux systems in accordance with compliance requirements
  • Manage source code repositories and collaboration workflows using GitHub
  • Monitor platform health, performance, and security using Azure Log Analytics and Grafana Cloud; respond to incidents and troubleshoot issues
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve developer experience and platform capabilities
  • Create and maintain documentation for platform services, tools, and best practices
  • Participate in on-call rotation to support production systems
  • Follow infrastructure and security best practices and compliance requirements
  • Assist in capacity planning and cost optimization initiatives
  • Other duties and projects as assigned Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)

  • Proven experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or related roles
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud platform (AWS knowledge beneficial as secondary skill)
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS) and cloud-native architectures
  • Understanding of Azure PaaS services (App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of infrastructure as code principles using Terraform for Azure
  • Understanding of Git version control and GitHub for repository management
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of both Windows and Linux systems administration
  • Experience with system patching, updates, and maintenance procedures
  • Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell)
  • Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and stay current with industry trends
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and container orchestration

  • Experience with Azure PaaS services and serverless computing patterns
  • Experience with Terraform for Azure infrastructure provisioning
  • Familiarity with Backstage or other developer portal platforms
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps pipelines, self-hosted build agents, and release management
  • Experience with Windows Server and Linux virtual machine management and patch management
  • Proficiency with GitHub workflows, actions, and repository management
  • Knowledge of Azure Log Analytics, Grafana Cloud, and Azure Monitor for observability
  • Understanding of Azure security best practices and compliance frameworks
  • Experience with AWS cloud services as a secondary platform
  • Working knowledge of AI trends, tools and best practices
  • Financial services industry experience or interest
