KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Business Partnership & IT Governance
- Serve as the primary IT business partner and single point of contact for plant and tech center leadership, ensuring clear ownership and accountability for all site IT matters.
- Represent the full scope of enterprise IT services at the site and coordinate with regional/global IT teams to align IT priorities with business needs.
- Lead the local digital and IT roadmap in alignment with regional roadmaps, enterprise strategies, and global IT governance standards.
- Provide site leadership with clear visibility into IT priorities, service performance, risks, and improvement actions through data, dashboards, and AI-enabled insights.
- Identify practical opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and business value through AI, automation, reporting, and digital solutions.
- Ensure site-level compliance with global IT governance, architecture principles, policies, and standards.
2. Manufacturing IT / OT & Cybersecurity
- Own site-level execution and governance of IT services and ensure alignment with OT environments, including MES, SCADA, plant networks, connectivity, engineering systems, and shop-floor technologies.
- Ensure compliance with IT/OT cybersecurity requirements, including asset inventory, network segmentation, vulnerability remediation, identity management, patch hygiene, and change controls.
- Apply zero-trust principles, OT security practices, and threat awareness to enforce enterprise security standards and respond effectively to local incidents.
- Coordinate with regional and global cybersecurity teams to address risks, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
- Ensure business continuity, disaster recovery, and resilience plans are implemented, tested, and maintained at the site.
3. Digitalization, AI Transformation & Technology Adoption
- Act as the site champion for AI, digital tools, and technology adoption by coaching plant engineers, operators, knowledge workers, and local IT users.
- Lead local adoption of enterprise AI tools, Copilots, automation, analytics, IIoT, digital platforms, and enterprise solutions.
- Build and deploy practical prototypes, automations, dashboards, and AI-enabled solutions using approved enterprise tools such as Power Platform, Copilot Studio, and Azure AI services.
- Support change management by helping site stakeholders adopt new technologies and embed digital tools into daily ways of working.
- Promote responsible AI practices, including appropriate data classification, approved use cases, human-in-the-loop review, and adherence to enterprise AI governance.
- Improve local data quality, ownership, and curation to support reliable AI, analytics, and reporting.
4. IT Operations, Service Performance & Escalation Management
- Own end-to-end IT service performance at the site across enterprise and local services.
- Act as the site escalation point for IT incidents, service degradation, operational risks, and business-impacting issues.
- Coordinate local, regional, and enterprise service teams to ensure timely issue resolution and root cause elimination.
- Drive a “Shift Left” mindset by improving root cause analysis, preventing recurring issues, and reducing dependency on enterprise support teams.
- Participate in regular service reviews with site leadership and monitor SLA/KPI performance.
- Ensure operational compliance, audit readiness, data protection, business continuity, and enforcement of IT and IT/OT policies.
- Manage local vendors and service providers in alignment with enterprise agreements and defined technical standards.
5. Site IT Project & Portfolio Management
- Lead and coordinate site-level execution of IT projects, initiatives, and digital programs.
- Manage site-specific IT roadmap and project activities, including scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, vendor coordination, and business impact.
- Ensure site projects are aligned with global and regional priorities, PMO standards, and enterprise delivery models.
- Provide transparent project updates to site leadership and relevant stakeholders.
6. Talent Leadership & Capability Development
- Lead, coach, and develop local IT resources where applicable, building capabilities across IT operations, IT/OT, cybersecurity, digital technologies, and AI.
- Foster a culture of ownership, service excellence, safety, continuous improvement, and proactive problem solving.
- Build and refresh the site IT team’s hands-on skills in AI tools, Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, scripting, endpoint management, OT security, and data fundamentals.
- Actively participate in regional IT communities, capability-building initiatives, and communities of practice.
- Role-model continuous learning by staying current with new technologies, certifications, and enterprise best practices.
7. IT Financial Management
- Manage site IT financials, including budget, forecast, actual spending, and cost tracking.
- Ensure cost transparency, budget discipline, and compliance with approved spending and enterprise financial processes.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 2 years in a site or hands-on IT leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Hands-on technical skills with enterprise low-code and AI tooling (Power Platform, Copilot Studio, approved Azure AI services), basic scripting (Python, SQL), modern endpoint management, and workflow automation — able to build small prototypes and automations and read code well enough to engage credibly with engineering teams.
- Working IT/OT depth — practical support of MES/SCADA environments, plant networks, edge and IIoT connectivity, and shop-floor systems, with the ability to collaborate substantively with controls engineers and plant technologists.
- Demonstrated experience deploying and driving adoption of enterprise AI tools (Copilots, intelligent automation, responsible AI) at the site level, including coaching users and embedding AI tools into daily ways of working.
- Cybersecurity working knowledge — zero-trust principles, OT security, identity, vulnerability and patch hygiene — sufficient to apply enterprise standards correctly and respond decisively to local incidents.
- Continuous upskilling mindset — a personal habit of staying current through experimentation with new tools, completing technical certifications, and active participation in communities of practice.
- Strong service excellence orientation, including hands-on incident management, root-cause discipline, and ITIL fundamentals.
- Vendor and supplier management at the site level, with the ability to hold local providers accountable to defined technical standards and enterprise agreements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management with plant and tech center leadership, shop-floor teams, and regional/global IT counterparts.
