About Us

Corby Steel Fabrications Ltd is a second-generation family business with over 30 years of experience in steel fabrication, mechanical engineering and industrial installation.

Based in Newtowngore, Co. Leitrim, we manufacture and install structural steelwork, platforms, handrails, walkways, machinery supports and bespoke steel structures for customers across a variety of industries.

We are looking for a practical and experienced Site Installer to join our installation team.

The Role

The successful candidate will be involved in installing steel products and structures manufactured in our workshop, travelling to customer sites to carry out installation, fitting and assembly works.

The role involves a varied range of projects, from structural steelwork and platforms to handrails, walkways and bespoke fabricated structures.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working on different projects, takes pride in quality workmanship and can work effectively as part of a site team.

Key Responsibilities

• Installing structural steelwork, platforms, walkways, handrails and bespoke steel structures.
• Fitting and assembling fabricated steel products on customer sites.
• Reading and working from engineering drawings.
• Measuring, levelling, aligning and positioning steelwork.
• Drilling, bolting, fitting and carrying out site modifications where required.
• Carrying out welding and fabrication repairs on site where necessary.
• Working safely and following site-specific health and safety requirements.
• Maintaining tools, equipment and a clean, organised working environment.
• Working with colleagues to complete projects efficiently and to the required standard.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in steel installation, structural steel erection or industrial site work.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Practical experience with fitting, assembling and installing steelwork.
• Good understanding of site health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, organised and willing to travel to customer sites.
• Full, valid driving licence.

Desirable Skills

• Experience installing structural steel, platforms, staircases, handrails and walkways.
• Experience working in industrial or manufacturing facilities.
• MIG and stick (arc) welding experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Experience working at height and using MEWPs.
• Ability to lead a small installation team or take responsibility for site work.

You'll be joining a well-equipped engineering and fabrication business with:

Working Hours

• Min 40 hours/week
• Friday: 3:30pm finish
• Paid overtime available at 1.5 times the normal hourly rate.

Pay: €17.00-€20.00 per hour
