Service Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Service Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance of Water Quality Equipment (WQE), RCA analyzers, sensors, RTUs, control panels, and associated instrumentation systems at various KAHRAMAA water pump stations and facilities in Qatar.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in industrial instrumentation, analyzer maintenance, instrument calibration, troubleshooting, RTU communication, sensors, and control panels. Experience with KAHRAMAA facilities and OEM equipment such as HATCH or Siemens will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of WQE, RCA analyzers, sensors, RTUs, panels, and instrumentation systems.
• Respond to KAHRAMAA breakdowns, abnormalities, and defects within 24 hours of notification.
• Diagnose faults, assess severity, and perform appropriate troubleshooting and corrective maintenance.
• Maintain maximum operational availability and ensure accurate parameter readings at:
• Local panels
• Marshalling panels
• Control panels
• RTUs
• Troubleshoot communication, configuration, signal, and output errors in analyzers and sensors.
• Carry out instrument calibration and recalibration following maintenance activities.
• Replace sensors, components, and equipment in accordance with OEM/manufacturer guidelines.
• Inspect WQE panels, equipment, cables, glanding, cable dressing, and terminations.
• Replace damaged or defective cables after obtaining the required KAHRAMAA approvals.
• Install and maintain tag numbers, identification plates, and panel labels.
• Support installation, dismantling, relocation, testing, and commissioning of WQE/RCA equipment.
• Coordinate with KAHRAMAA Water Laboratory personnel to verify water quality parameter readings.
• Prepare and submit Site Inspection Reports, Preventive Maintenance Reports, Corrective Maintenance Reports, and Calibration Reports.
• Submit required preventive and corrective maintenance reports to KAHRAMAA on the next working day before commencement of daily activities.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, calibration, inspections, troubleshooting, equipment status, and replacements.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OEM recommendations, QCS requirements, KAHRAMAA procedures, and industrial safety standards.
• Coordinate effectively with KAHRAMAA engineers, representatives, laboratory personnel, and site teams.

Qualifications \& Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in:
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics Engineering
• Instrumentation Engineering
• Or a related technical discipline
• Relevant hands-on experience in WQE, water quality analyzers, industrial instrumentation, analyzer maintenance, or industrial control systems.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Instrument calibration
• Industrial instrumentation
• Water quality analyzers
• RCA analyzers
• Sensors
• RTU systems
• Control and marshalling panels
• Communication systems
• Troubleshooting and fault diagnosis
• Ability to read and understand instrumentation/control drawings and technical documentation.
• Ability to prepare professional technical maintenance, inspection, and calibration reports.
• Familiarity with OEM maintenance procedures, QCS requirements, KAHRAMAA procedures, and industrial safety practices.
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively at operational utility facilities.
• Valid Qatar Driving License is preferred.

Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Previous KAHRAMAA project or facility experience.
• Experience at water pump stations, water treatment plants, utility facilities, or similar industrial sites.
• Hands-on experience with Water Quality Equipment (WQE) and RCA analyzers.
• Experience with HATCH, Siemens, or other major OEM equipment.
• Strong industrial instrumentation and analyzer maintenance background.
• Experience in calibration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and RTU communication.
• Qatar/GCC experience in water, utilities, industrial, or instrumentation maintenance projects.
• Relevant OEM training or certification.
