Senior UX Researcher

What you will do:

It’s an incredibly exciting time to work at Maxon as we continue to build our collection of tools for filmmakers, editors, motion designers, and visual effect artists. The design and research team has a pivotal role in defining our product strategy and continually improving our tools that people use every day.

• Own research strategy for Cinema 4D across the full product lifecycle and various platforms , from early concept through post-launch, selecting the right method for every design question: usability tests, contextual inquiries, diary studies, surveys, etc.
• Be the internal authority on how professional artists think, work, and interact with complex 3D tools, translating that knowledge into clear direction for designers and PMs.
• Deliver findings in compelling formats that drive real decision s, including go/no-go calls on major features.
• Identify gaps in research process and push for improvements .

• Mentor other researchers and raise the bar across the team. What we are looking for:

• 5+ years of UX research experience on complex or technical software products.

• Deep expertise across qualitative and quantitative methods, with the judgment to know which to use when.
• A track record of turning ambiguous findings into product decisions at the leadership level.
• Familiarity with 3D design, motion graphics, or VFX workflows as a researcher, practitioner, or passionate observer.
• Strong cross-functional instincts, with experience working alongside design, engineering, and product teams.

• Strong communication skills in English, German would be a plus PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Hands-on research experience with Cinema 4D, Blender, Houdini, Maya, or similar tools.

• Experience building or maturing a research practice within a design organization.
