Senior Technical Lead - .Net

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Technical Lead – .NET to lead the design, development and delivery of secure, scalable and enterprise-grade software solutions.

The successful candidate must have at least 10 years of professional software development experience, including strong expertise in C#, ASP.NET Core, Web APIs and modern .NET technologies. The candidate should also have sufficient familiarity with Angular to support architectural decisions, review frontend-to-backend integration and coordinate effectively with Angular developers.

This position requires a combination of technical leadership and hands-on development. The candidate will guide development teams, contribute to critical application components, make architectural decisions, conduct code reviews and resolve complex technical and production issues.

This is an on-site position based in Qatar. The selected candidate must be willing and able to work from the Qatar office.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design, development and implementation of enterprise applications using Microsoft .NET technologies.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and day-to-day guidance to the development team.
• Remain hands-on and contribute directly to critical application components and complex technical requirements.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs, backend services, microservices and distributed applications.
• Translate business and functional requirements into secure, scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Define and enforce coding standards, design patterns, architectural guidelines and development best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to quality, security, performance and maintainability standards.
• Make appropriate technical and architectural decisions based on functional, operational and security requirements.
• Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, project managers, QA teams, DevOps engineers, infrastructure teams and security teams.
• Guide the team in troubleshooting complex application, integration, performance and production issues.
• Prepare reliable technical estimates and identify implementation dependencies.
• Identify technical risks, performance bottlenecks and security concerns at an early stage.
• Support application deployment, production rollout, issue resolution and post-production activities.
• Ensure appropriate unit testing, integration testing, technical documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Review frontend-to-backend integration and coordinate technical activities with Angular developers.
• Participate in client, vendor and stakeholder technical discussions when required.
• Support secure coding reviews, vulnerability remediation, VAPT observations and compliance activities.
• Promote automation and continuous improvement across development, testing and deployment processes.
• Mentor developers and support the continuous improvement of the team’s technical capabilities.

Required Experience

• Minimum 10 years of professional software development experience.
• At least 8 years of hands-on experience with C# and .NET technologies.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Technical Lead, Development Lead or in an equivalent technical leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience delivering medium- to large-scale enterprise applications.
• Experience leading development teams across the complete software development lifecycle.
• Proven ability to design, develop and support business-critical applications.
• Experience working in production environments with high security, availability and performance requirements.
• Working familiarity with Angular and modern frontend application architecture.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in C# and object-oriented programming.
• Hands-on experience with modern .NET, preferably .NET 8 or later.
• Strong experience with ASP.NET Core and Web API development.
• Experience with Entity Framework Core, Dapper or equivalent data-access technologies.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, versioning, validation and error-handling practices.
• Experience integrating with third-party systems and external services.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server, relational database design, stored procedures and query optimization.
• Good understanding of SOLID principles, dependency injection and enterprise design patterns.
• Experience with microservices, service-oriented architecture and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization using JWT, OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
• Experience implementing secure API communication using HTTPS and TLS.
• Experience with unit testing using xUnit, NUnit, MSTest or equivalent frameworks.
• Understanding of integration testing, mocking and automated test practices.
• Experience with Git-based source control, pull requests and branching strategies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or equivalent platforms.
• Experience hosting and supporting applications using IIS, Windows Services, containers or cloud platforms.
• Strong knowledge of structured logging, exception handling, monitoring and production troubleshooting.
• Experience with application performance analysis and optimization.
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices, secrets management and vulnerability remediation.
• Experience producing technical documentation, design documents and implementation guidelines.

Angular Familiarity

The candidate is not required to be a specialist Angular developer but should have sufficient knowledge to:

• Understand Angular application architecture and project structure.
• Work with components, services, modules, routing and dependency injection.
• Understand TypeScript, HTML, CSS and reactive forms.
• Review frontend-to-backend integration approaches.
• Troubleshoot REST API integration, authentication and CORS-related issues.
• Understand HTTP interceptors, route guards and secure token handling.
• Review environment configuration and API endpoint management.
• Coordinate effectively with Angular developers.
• Perform basic Angular code reviews when required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS or another major cloud platform.
• Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Kafka or IBM MQ.
• Experience with SignalR or other real-time communication technologies.
• Knowledge of Redis or other distributed caching solutions.
• Experience with SonarQube, static-code analysis and automated code-quality tools.
• Experience with API gateways, reverse proxies and load balancers.
• Knowledge of Clean Architecture and Domain-Driven Design.
• Experience designing high-availability, scalable and load-balanced applications.
• Experience with observability tools, distributed tracing and centralized log monitoring.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development practices.
• Experience in banking, fintech, payment systems or other security-sensitive domains.
• Understanding of TLS, mTLS, encryption, certificate management and secrets management.
• Experience supporting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing and security remediation.
• Experience modernizing legacy .NET or .NET Framework applications.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Equivalent professional experience and relevant technical certifications may also be considered.
