Reapit – Who are we?
Reapit is the original, end-to-end business technology provider for estate agencies of all sizes. We’ve been helping sales and lettings agents to build relationships and grow their businesses for more than 25 years. Our technology connects property professionals in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand with buyers, sellers, tenants and landlords to power the relationships that change lives.
In Australia, Reapit stands as the preferred technology choice among the nation's leading estate agents and agencies. Tailored to the unique demands of the Australian property market, Reapit provides successful leaders with unparalleled tools across sales, property management, client relations, and data analytics, reinforcing their position at the pinnacle of real estate excellence.
What you’ll be doing
Senior QA Engineers at Reapit own quality outcomes, they are not measured by how much testing they personally execute, but by how reliably the squad ships high-quality software. This means driving test strategy, mentoring engineers, and championing quality practices across the full development lifecycle, while making the most of automation and AI-assisted tooling to keep the team fast and confident.
This role sits between our QA Engineer and Senior Staff QA levels: you bring deep hands-on automation expertise and take the lead on complex, strategic initiatives within the squad, while mentoring less experienced engineers and helping shape squad-level QA processes and tooling decisions.
Quality engineering is changing quickly as AI reshapes how tests are written, reviewed, and maintained. We expect Senior QA Engineers to stay ahead of this shift, evaluating new AI-assisted testing tools, critically reviewing AI-generated code and tests, and helping the team adopt what genuinely improves coverage and velocity.
Collaboration \& Planning:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate risk, define testing plan aligned with cycle goal and project goals.
- Drive quality assurance initiatives from conception to deployment, ensuring robust test coverage across all stages of the development lifecycle.
- Identifying, documenting, and tracking complex software defects with actionable insights.
- Work closely with development teams to conduct root cause analysis and drive quick resolutions for critical defects.
- Advocate for a "Shift-Left" testing approach, ensuring testing and quality practices are integrated early in the SDLC.
Technical Skills
- Solid understanding of manual and automated testing techniques, with hands-on experience using Playwright, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
- Strong programming skills, ideally JavaScript (ES6); working knowledge of SQL and experience testing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and integrating automated tests into build pipelines.
- Knowledge of version control (Git) and exposure to cloud environments such as AWS.
AI-Augmented Testing
- Hands-on experience with at least one AI-assisted testing tool or workflow e.g. AI-generated test cases, self-healing automated tests, AI-assisted visual/regression comparison
- Comfortable piloting and evaluating new AI testing features: running structured trials on real squad work, measuring impact on coverage and speed, and reporting back with a clear recommendation.
- Applies critical review to AI-generated code and AI-generated tests, treats AI output as a draft to verify against requirements and edge cases, not a finished artifact.
- Basic awareness of responsible AI use in QA: protecting test data, avoiding over-reliance on AI-suggested coverage, and flagging where human judgement is still required.
Operations \& Quality
- Advocate for shared quality ownership across the squad, quality is everyone's responsibility, not a QA-only function.
- Drive CI/CD improvements to support a streamlined, efficient release process.
- Mentor intermediate and junior QA engineers on technical skills, test strategy, and professional development; support developers in writing effective automated tests.
- Participate in technical interviews, helping assess and hire new QA talent.
- Contribute to squad- and org-level QA process improvements, tooling decisions, and knowledge sharing, including evaluating emerging AI testing tools as they reach the market.
Product Delivery
- Partner with product owners and engineering leads to align QA strategy with roadmap and release goals.
- Provide feedback on testability and quality risk during story refinement, helping the squad catch issues before they're built.
- Communicate quality health, risk, and release readiness clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Security \& Compliance
- Understand secure testing practices, including protecting test data and avoiding exposure of sensitive tenant, landlord, and property data.
- Run security validation steps (e.g. login flows, role-based access) and report anomalies.
- Adhere to data protection and compliance guidelines relevant to Property Management's data sensitivity and risk profile.
Who we're looking for
At Reapit, we prioritise hiring individuals who share our values and possess the right attitudes and behaviours for success. Whilst some of the listed requirements may be important, don’t worry if you don’t meet all of them, we’d still like to hear from you.
Essential
- 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong background in automated testing.
- Proven experience leading quality initiatives and driving quality improvements at a project or organisational level.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and an analytical mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to present technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- [AI] Demonstrated hands-on experience with, or genuine curiosity about, AI-assisted testing tools, you don't need to be an expert, but you should have tried at least one and formed a view on where it helps and where it doesn't.
Desirable
- Experience with the Atlassian suite (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket).
- Experience with performance (e.g. K6), security, and scalability testing for complex software systems.
- Exposure to web/mobile testing frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or Appium.
- Experience working with DevOps teams or familiarity with continuous integration environments.
- QA mentoring experience, with a proven ability to guide and develop QA professionals.
- [AI] Experience with agentic or autonomous testing tools, AI-assisted test data generation, or AI-assisted defect triage and log analysis.
- [AI] Early test-architect thinking: comfortable reviewing AI-generated or developer-written test suites for completeness, not just writing tests yourself.
What your impact and success looks like
We expect your success and impact in the early stages of your career with us to look something like this:
Within 1 month
- Engage with leadership and engineering teams; build an in-depth understanding of Reapit's products, development processes, testing frameworks, including the AI tools already in use across the squad.
- Begin participating in test strategy discussions for ongoing projects, advocating for quality from day one.
Within 3 months
- Lead QA efforts on larger, complex features, ensuring thorough coverage across manual and automated testing.
- Identify and pilot at least one opportunity to use AI-assisted testing to reduce manual effort, reporting back on the results.
- Be recognised as a key contributor in planning sessions and actively mentoring junior and intermediate engineers.
Within 6 months
- Have led measurable improvements to the test automation framework, reducing manual testing effort and increasing coverage.
- Have introduced or scaled at least one AI-assisted testing practice that the wider squad now relies on.
- Be seen as a key mentor within the team, recognised for raising the overall standard of quality, not just the volume of testing across the organisation.
We operate a Flexible Working Policy, and you are free to determine where you work from, be that from home or in the Sydney or Brisbane offices, and how often but we certainly recommend a balance.
