About the Opportunity

New permanent opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the ASC LOTE (Life of Type Extension) team based in Osborne, SA. Reporting to the Head of LOTE – Program Delivery, this role is responsible for leading and delivering high-quality project management activities, providing project leadership and ensuring safe, practical outcomes aligned to project, schedule, and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Overall accountability for the safe and efficient delivery of planning, execution and close out phases in accordance with approved project management processes.
  • Leading the development of the schedule performance baseline and then monitoring project performance trends, analysing variances and developing corrective actions to ensure delivery against the performance baseline.
  • Provide leadership to project management teams on assigned projects, ensuring alignment to delivery objectives and organisational priorities.
  • Leading the coordination and engagement with client representatives, internal functional departments and stakeholders and external contractors as required, to ensure the project objectives are understood and delivered.
  • Develop and maintain program management documentation including for example PMP, CWBS, CSR etc.
  • Preparation and presentation of required project reports and briefs to Senior Management including Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Cost Account Manager (CAM) responsibility for financial management of allocated elements of the program.

About you

  • Demonstrable practical knowledge of project delivery best practices including scheduling, earned value management, risk management, quality management, stakeholder and personnel management as applicable to a complex project environment.
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a complex project environment as a Project Manager (or equivalent).
  • Practical knowledge of scheduling, Earned Value Management (EVM), financial management, and stakeholder/personnel management within complex project environments.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a technical or project management discipline or equivalent experience in a systems engineering, naval construction or complex asset management / development environment.
  • Membership/certification with AIPM or PMI or equivalent
  • Strong, autonomous leader who thrives in ambiguity, effectively manages competing priorities, effective in building and maintaining stakeholder relationships, and communicates with sound judgement, and a clear customer-focused mindset.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
