Job Details:

Position Title: Senior Product Engineer, Mulesoft

Status: Full-Time Support

Hours: 40 hours per week

Faculty/Department: Information Technology Services

Campus/Location: North Campus – must be comfortable working hybrid, a minimum of four (4) days on-site.

Payband: K

Salary Range: $47.13 - $54.48

Starting Salary: $47.13

Progression through the payband is in accordance with the increments in the payband as outline in the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement based on actual service in the payband.

About the Senior Product Engineer - Mulesoft Role:

Under the direction of the Technology Product Owner, the Senior Product Engineer, Mulesoft is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable integration solutions across the MuleSoft platform and related technologies. This includes building and managing APIs, integrations, and event-driven solutions that connect Salesforce and other enterprise systems across the institution. The role focuses on ensuring reliable data exchange, system performance, and security while supporting Humber’s vision of a Digital Campus. The Senior Product Engineer will leverage MuleSoft and other iPaaS capabilities to enable seamless interoperability, support platform users through technical expertise, and contribute to system enhancements and documentation. In close partnership with the Technology Product Owner, this role enables a cohesive and integrated user experience across Salesforce and enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, implement, and maintain scalable integrations and APIs using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and related technologies. * Build and manage system, process, and experience APIs to enable integration between Salesforce and enterprise applications. * Implement integration patterns including REST, event-driven architectures, and message-based systems (e.g., JMS, RabbitMQ or similar). * Leverage Salesforce APIs and data structures to enable reliable and secure data exchange across systems. * Develop and support integrations using iPaaS solutions, ensuring performance, scalability, and fault tolerance. * Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into integration and API solutions. * Support testing activities by developing test cases, test data, and participating in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. * Monitor and troubleshoot integrations, performing root cause analysis and ensuring timely resolution of issues. * Produce and maintain clear technical and integration documentation to support ongoing maintenance and knowledge transfer. * Stay current with MuleSoft platform capabilities, integration best practices, and emerging technologies. * Partner with Technology Product Owners and technical leads to align on architecture, integration standards, and delivery across the portfolio. * Lead or contribute to the design of scalable integration patterns and reusable frameworks across the integration platform. * Work within a product management model, supporting Product Owners by ensuring backlog items are technically sound, well-defined, and aligned with architectural standards. About You:*

If this sounds like you, keep reading: Education At least five years of hands-on experience in large, complex environments designing, building, operating, maintaining, and securing enterprise-class solutions. * + Proven experience working with MuleSoft and other iPaaS platforms, with a strong understanding of integration patterns, platform capabilities, and best practices. Experience/Skills** Strong expertise in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including API design, development, and lifecycle management. * Experience implementing integration patterns using REST APIs, message queues (JMS, RabbitMQ or similar), and event-driven architectures. * Familiarity with Salesforce platform and Salesforce APIs, with the ability to integrate Salesforce with enterprise systems. * Proficiency in modern development technologies including Java, JavaScript, and REST services, with experience in frameworks such as Spring and tools such as Maven. * Experience with iPaaS solutions and integration tools beyond MuleSoft is considered an asset. * Working knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools such as Azure DevOps Pipelines and Jenkins, with experience using version control systems (Git, Bitbucket). * Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and experience deploying and supporting integration solutions in cloud environments. * Experience delivering enterprise integration and web service solutions in large, complex organizations. * Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, with experience operating within a product management model and contributing to backlog refinement and delivery through modern work management tools. * Knowledge of current and emerging trends in integration architecture, API design, and distributed systems. * Experience with change management practices, supporting multiple environments, system dependencies, and maintaining accurate technical documentation. * Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. * MuleSoft certifications (e.g., MuleSoft Certified Developer or Integration Architect) are considered an asset. * Understanding of higher education data landscapes is considered an asset.
