Senior Odoo Techno-Functional Consultant

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Odoo Techno-Functional Consultant to lead the design, development, implementation, and optimization of Odoo ERP solutions. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise, excellent functional knowledge across business domains, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable, high-quality Odoo solutions. You will work closely with customers, prospects, functional consultants, project managers, and developers to deliver end-to-end ERP implementations, customizations, integrations, and support while ensuring best practices, system performance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Solution Design \& Functional Consulting

• Analyze customer business requirements and recommend scalable Odoo ERP solutions.
• Translate functional requirements into technical specifications and solution designs.
• Participate in solution architecture, technical design, and implementation planning.
• Provide technical guidance, feasibility analysis, and best-practice recommendations.
• Identify opportunities to optimize business processes using Odoo ERP.
• Act as the bridge between business users and the technical development team to ensure successful solution delivery.

2. Pre-Sales \& Solution Consulting

• Work closely with the Sales team to understand customer requirements and recommend suitable Odoo ERP solutions.
• Conduct discovery sessions, workshops, and requirement gathering meetings with prospective customers.
• Deliver engaging product demonstrations, solution presentations, and proof-of-concept (POC) sessions.
• Prepare technical proposals, effort estimations, implementation methodologies, Statements of Work (SoW), and solution documents.
• Participate in technical discussions, RFP/RFQ responses, and customer presentations.
• Recommend standard Odoo functionalities and propose customizations where necessary.
• Support the Sales team throughout the complete pre-sales lifecycle until project closure.
• Stay updated with the latest Odoo features, industry trends, and competing ERP solutions to effectively position Odoo.

3. Development \& Technical Leadership

• Develop, customize, and maintain Odoo modules using Python and the Odoo Framework.
• Design and implement custom workflows, reports, dashboards, and business automation.
• Develop and customize QWeb reports, PDF reports, and output documents.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs, XML-RPC services, and third-party applications.
• Perform module migration, code migration, and database migration across Odoo versions.
• Lead technical development activities across multiple ERP projects.
• Review code and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with Functional Consultants, Project Managers, QA teams, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

4. Project Delivery, Quality \& Performance

• Manage end-to-end technical delivery of Odoo ERP projects within agreed timelines and quality standards.
• Prepare development plans, task estimations, resource planning, and progress reports for project management.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, automation testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Ensure high-quality, secure, scalable, and maintainable code following industry best practices.
• Monitor application performance and optimize Odoo, PostgreSQL, and server performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents.
• Implement security best practices and ensure overall system stability and reliability.
• Support deployment, production releases, go-live activities, and post-implementation support.
• Maintain technical documentation, deployment documentation, and knowledge repositories.
• Ensure ERP systems are continuously optimized to support business operations efficiently.
• Identify project risks proactively and recommend mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Engineering Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Odoo ERP development and implementation (preferred).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to mentor junior developers and conduct technical knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Experience working with both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
