Job Description

Summary:

The Role holder would be s responsible for Demand Planning, Distributor Management, Supply delivery from internal manufacturing facilities and also external Supply sources. The Present Scope of APAC includes South East Asia, North Asia, ANZ, China, HK \& Taiwan) and depending on business strategy, more markets may get added in future. The size of the region is a topline of >$150M and around 400 SKUs

This is a critical role and the role holder is expected to exhibit strong functional and people leadership, be a solution provider, business oriented End to end mindset, capable of getting into the right amount of detail but not losing track of overall picture. The role holder should be capable of managing a team, peers and stakeholders across multiple cultures. The Role holder should be capable of managing stakeholder expectations at different levels in the organization.

The individual will be a key member of APAC Leadership Team. The role will collaborate with Commercial team (Sales, Marketing \& Finance), Distributors, and internal and External manufacturing facilities to achieve APAC strat plan growth. He/she will drive integration within support Supply Chain functions such as Operations Business Integration (OBI), Quality \& Regulatory Compliance (QRC), Global Trade \& Compliance, Global Supply Planning, Malaysia Plant, US/Canada/Mexico plants and GBS – order to cash, to drive supply chain effectiveness and efficiencies.

The Role Holder is responsible to drive IBM process in APAC. This role should work closely with each country commercial team to drive the continuous improvement of IBM process. The role assumes primary ownership of the forecast in Kinaxis and is accountable for driving improvement of all forecast related performance metrics (e.g. Case fill rates, WMAPE, DOH/DOS). He/She would provide visibility to commercial leads on the PO/Demand trends across quarters and highlight gaps to enable discussions.

This role is responsible for managing operations of external parties in APAC including Distributors, Co-man and Co-pack facilities. This position is essential to the achievement of key corporate sales and operational objectives.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

Perform essential tasks to support IBM as well as facilitate APAC Distributor Demand Review, Consensus, EDR/MBR and Supply Review each month.

Utilize all available tools to research key demand drivers by item and ensure that they are incorporated in the forecast.

Work with sales and marketing to derive impact of competitive activity, retail trends, and trade/consumer promotional plans. And review assumptions represented in the demand plan and, analyze the impact on the forecast of each data point (timing, incremental volume, total volume, cannibalization rates, initiatives, etc.)

Perform bottom-up and top-down validation of forecast.

Present the forecast and build consensus during monthly IBM process.

Implement timely forecast adjustments agreed to by team.

Participate in the development of annual plan / Strategic plan sales.

Determine root cause of forecast variances and communicate results.

Be able to explain forecast performance measures and results on request.

Validate all service failures attributed to inaccurate demand plans.

Develop and implement action plans for improving forecast performance and reducing bias.

Build teamwork through participation on cross-functional teams (i.e. brand teams, seasonal consensus, customer relationship, order fulfillment initiatives).

Lead any collaborative efforts that directly impact the demand plan.

Enhance and implement new technologies that can be used by the demand planning team to improve the overall process.

Demand Planning - Develop and maintain operational forecast by item by market in Demand Planning system Kinaxis.

Understand information flow throughout demand and supply planning processes.

Deploys and make use appropriate demand models to generate forecast.

Manages collaborative sales forecasting process with Distributor, Sales \& Marketing to ensure forecast accuracy improvement, interaction with manufacturing site \& global demand \& supply team, constrained supply analysis and communication, APAC markets supply follow up.

Provide packtype / brand analysis for customer level forecasts to validate alignment with CSE expectations and customer retail performance.

Analyze historical sales data and future plans while working cross-functionally to achieve continuous improvement in the accuracy of demand forecasts.

Using projected demand plans, work towards continuous improvement of forecast accuracy and improve overall demand plan.

Maintain accountability for all Supply Chain focused metrics, pertaining to customer service level (Case Fill Rate, On-time Delivery), forecast accuracy (WMAPE), and DDD reduction.

Participate in special project, providing leadership as needed on cross-functional teams focused on the Demand Planning business focus and give support to Business units for all Demand and Supply planning related improvement initiative (for e.g. Use In-Country Sales Run rates/Forecast and Inventory information from distributors to do sanity check of S4 Hana- Kinaxis Statistical Forecast. Do optimal setting of inventory in distributor’s warehouse to support distributors in developing Shipment plans that translates to Gross Sales forecast. Contribute to driving improvement projects with APAC Distributors in areas of Forecasting, Supply Planning and Inventory.)

Assess and manage Distributor Supply Chain Capabilities

Jointly develop action plan with the distributors to improve on it.

Monitor Distributor Supply Chain Metrics (In-Country Sales delivery, Customer Service Levels, Inventory and Forecast Accuracy)

Leverage resources from Center of Excellence, QRC if required to address Distributor Supply Chain issues.

Co-lead in the creation, execution and management of APAC contract manufacturing/packing network to support APAC Strat plan growth.

Coman evaluation – Supply chain capabilities of prospective comans

Site visits and desktop assessments

Assess coman candidate from perspective of sustainable supply – planning, procurement capabilities, planning shop floor coordination, outbound logistics

Assess storage areas suitability to meet inventory norms/warehouse material controls

Assist in cost evaluation to compare between alternative comans

Support completion of Recommendation of External Supply solution

Commercial discussions/operating model

Participate in discussions and decisions on operating model for Coman

Work with/align commercial teams on operating model and provide coman costing as input for financial evaluation.

Work with Procurement team on ingredient and packaging material supply strategy for selected coman

Contracting/Setup and running coman ongoing supply

Support contract document by providing supply chain deliverables and KPIs for coman (MOQ/Production Frequency etc.

Work with GBS/Finance/IS and develop [internal setups for flow of transactions

Work with Customer Supply chain to manage transition of coman/copacker into the Supply Chain network

Process improvements through improved workflow, eliminating unnecessary, non value added processes

Improve Efficiency through automation – develop ideas and opportunities and work with service providers to provide solutions.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Education:

BS or equivalent major in engineering, logistics, science, mathematics/ statistics or related field. Master’s degree and Supply Chain Management Diploma desired. APICS certification is a plus.

Experience:

12-16 yrs of Supply Chain related experience in Demand Planning, Logistics, and Managing Supply from internal and External Sources.
