About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join an international technology team responsible for a critical capital-markets risk platform.
The platform supports market and counterparty-risk calculations, risk analysis, regulatory reporting and credit processes. It operates through a highly distributed architecture designed to process large volumes of data with high throughput and strong performance.
You will work primarily on the Java components of a counterparty-risk calculation system, implementing technical, regulatory and business requirements. The technology environment combines Big Data solutions, data grids, compute grids, REST-based architectures and GPU-supported pricing and simulation capabilities.
This is a highly technical position combining hands-on development, software design, testing, code review, performance optimization and continuous delivery within a multidisciplinary Agile team.
Main Responsibilities
Software Design and Development
- Design, develop and maintain secure, scalable, testable and well-documented Java applications.
- Build high-throughput and high-performance distributed solutions.
- Implement technical, regulatory and business requirements.
- Help clarify, analyze and qualify business and technical needs.
- Contribute to technical studies and solution design before project implementation.
- Develop software according to coding, architecture, data-protection and security standards.
- Optimize existing code and improve its performance, quality and maintainability.
- Integrate software packages and contribute to configuration and parameter definition.
- Develop tools, frameworks and technical components required by the platform.
- Work closely with quantitative developers and other technical specialists.
Distributed Systems and Performance
- Develop solutions using distributed-system programming patterns.
- Contribute to architectures involving data grids, compute grids and Big Data technologies.
- Apply multithreading and parallelization techniques to improve system performance.
- Work with technologies such as Oracle Coherence, Apache Cassandra, Spectrum Symphony, Kafka and Tomcat.
- Support highly distributed risk-calculation processes.
- Investigate performance issues and help identify scalable technical solutions.
Quality, Testing and Code Review
- Produce high-quality software aligned with engineering best practices.
- Define, implement and improve test strategies.
- Develop and maintain automated tests.
- Participate in unit, integration and acceptance testing.
- Review code and ensure compliance with development principles and team standards.
- Ensure that solutions meet maintainability, security, scalability and testability requirements.
- Support product acceptance and release activities.

Continuous Integration and Delivery
- Apply automated testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
- Contribute to the implementation and improvement of CI/CD pipelines.

- Support reliable and repeatable release processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering and delivery practices.
Agile Collaboration
- Work within a multidisciplinary Scrum squad operating in an Agile-at-scale environment.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Senior Java Developer with strong software-engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience building distributed, high-throughput and high-performance applications.
You are highly proficient in Java, Spring, REST APIs and multithreading and understand how to design solutions that are scalable, secure, maintainable, documented and testable. You are also comfortable working with distributed-system patterns, parallel processing, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
You combine technical depth with a collaborative mindset. You can clarify requirements, contribute to architecture and design decisions, review code, optimize existing components and implement framework or tooling changes when necessary.
You are autonomous, precise and comfortable working in a fast-paced Agile environment. Previous experience with capital markets, counterparty risk, Big Data, data grids, compute grids or quantitative systems will be especially valuable.
