JOB DESCRIPTION
Maple \& White Design is seeking a full-time Senior Designer to join the interior design team in our South Bend, IN office. The ideal candidate is extremely organized, detail oriented, and a self-motivated problem solver. This person will lead design projects in all phases from inception to installation. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 7-10 years design experience. This position is instrumental in executing projects successfully and will report to the Principal Designer.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess a college degree and a minimum of 7-10 years of interior design experience.
Excellent project management skills are required along with demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills. A positive disposition, sense of humor, professionalism, and the ability to work independently and within a collaborative environment are necessities. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication is also expected along with the ability to handle a high volume of documents and busy workload. Must be highly organized and resourceful with a strong attention to detail, problem solving, communication, and organizational skills.
The ideal candidate will be tech savvy and have a working knowledge of software (Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and project management software). Candidates must be proficient in the production of working drawings: space planning, floor plans, furniture plans, finish schedules. Auto CAD, Chief Architect, Revit, and/or SketchUp with rendering abilities required. Experience with ground up construction is highly recommended.
Skills and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Auto CAD, Revit, Chief Architect or Sketchup including space and furniture planning and interior elevations; color renderings
- Create mood boards, proposals, estimates, and furnishings budgets
- Preparation for client meetings to include visual presentations
- Selection of textiles, fixtures, accessories and furniture
- Vendor communication
- Maintain project schedules (such as FFE, plumbing, paint and materials)
- Coordination and note-taking on site visits, work room visits, and oversee installations, etc.
- Working knowledge of interior design vendors
