About the Role:
smart_ is looking for a Senior Interior Designer / Project Manager. Our ideal candidate will possess 6+ years of relevant industry experience in hospitality and retail design and be seeking an opportunity to lead projects, mentor team members, and contribute to a highly collaborative studio environment.
As an active Senior Interior Designer / PM team member, you would:
- Lead projects from concept development through implementation and opening day
- Coordinate and collaborate with internal design teams, consultants, and client groups throughout all project phases
- Conduct detailed MEP and structural coordination reviews of Interior Design and Food Service drawing packages
- Review and support drawing packages produced by junior and intermediate team members
- Mentor and guide design staff, contributing to their growth and development within the studio
- Present design concepts and technical packages to clients, stakeholders, and Airport Authorities
- Support studio-wide technical and design initiatives as required
- Contribute innovative ideas and solutions to improve project workflows, drawing standards, and studio processes
- Manage multiple projects, conversations, and deadlines simultaneously while adapting to evolving project needs
- Promote a collaborative studio culture through communication, mentorship, and shared learning
- Stay active within the design industry through conferences, educational events, and trend research

Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Architecture, Interior Design, or Architectural Technology
- 6+ years of experience in hospitality, retail, or related design industries
- Extensive understanding of hospitality and retail environments
- LEED Green Associate designation considered an asset
- High level of proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Working knowledge of BlueBeam, PlanGrid, Autodesk Build, and SmartSheet
- Strong understanding of construction drawing packages, specifications, and consultant coordination
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in a fast-paced team environment
- Strong technical coordination and project management skills
