We are seeking a highly skilled Gas Pipeline Operations Engineer to oversee the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of gas transmission and distribution pipeline systems.
Position Summary
The Gas Pipeline Operations Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing gas pipeline operations while ensuring compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and operational procedures. The successful candidate will work closely with maintenance teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted gas supply and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage daily gas pipeline operations to ensure safe and efficient performance.
- Analyze pipeline operating data, pressure levels, flow rates, and system performance indicators.
- Coordinate routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and integrity management activities.
- Identify operational risks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support pipeline commissioning, testing, startup, and shutdown activities.
- Investigate operational incidents, equipment failures, and system abnormalities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and field operations teams to optimize system reliability.
- Review and update operational procedures, technical documentation, and maintenance records.
- Support emergency response planning and operational readiness programs.
- Participate in pipeline expansion, upgrade, and capital improvement projects.
- Prepare technical reports, performance analyses, and management presentations.
Qualifications \& Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Pipeline Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in gas pipeline operations, transmission systems, oil and gas operations, or related infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of gas transmission systems, compressors, pressure regulation stations, and pipeline networks.
- Knowledge of pipeline integrity management, risk assessment, and operational safety practices.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, control systems, and pipeline monitoring technologies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and technical reporting abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with international pipeline standards and regulations.
- Knowledge of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) management systems.
- Professional engineering certification or membership in a recognized engineering body.
- Experience working on large-scale oil, gas, or energy infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with asset integrity and reliability engineering principles.
