Senior Data Scientist

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our growing team of analytics experts for a 12-month contract (subject to extension).

In this role, you will be supporting our ongoing AI initiative and will accelerate the organization’s ability to design, build, and operate AI and LLM‑based solutions independently. Your focus will be on hands‑on delivery, capability transfer, and setting sustainable technical and operating standards so internal teams can confidently own and evolve AI solutions.

In your role, you will:

• Work alongside internal Data Enablement team consisting of data science, engineering, and analytics teams to co develop AI and LLM solutions, and transitioning product maintenance from vendors to internal staff.
• Support the design and implementation of LLM use cases such as summarization, classification, extraction, and retrieval augmented generation (RAG)
• Establish best practices, patterns, and reference architectures for LLM enabled applications
• Review existing vendor delivered solutions and:

o Deconstruct design and implementation choices

o Identify simplifications, risks, and knowledge gaps

o Support internal teams in taking over enhancement and maintenance

• Define evaluation, monitoring, and guardrails for LLM solutions (hallucination mitigation, grounding, drift, cost control)
• Support the creation and validate existing prompt strategies, embedding approaches, and retrieval pipelines for enterprise use
• Help establishing the operating model for internal AI solution delivery and Maintenance of existing models.

Key qualifications:

· Graduate degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related quantitative field

• Proven experience as a Senior Data Scientist, AI Engineer, or AI Consultant delivering end to end enterprise AI solutions from feature engineering to production deployment
• Strong, hands-on expertise with:

o Python, SQL, and modern data science tooling

o Machine learning model development and evaluation

o LLMs, embeddings, prompt engineering, and RAG architectures

• Demonstrated experience building internal AI capability from the ground up
• Experience designing and productionizing AI solutions in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Familiarity with MLOps / LLM Ops on Azure, including deployment, monitoring, cost management, and lifecycle governance
• Experience delivery ML solutions on Databricks and using Azure AI foundry is strong asset

· Ability to clearly explain complex AI concepts to cross functional teams

· Strong facilitation and mentoring skills, with a focus on capability uplift and sustainability

· Experience working in enterprise, regulated, or complex environments is an asset
