The Senior Advanced Systems Engineer is a strategic engineering role within Eaton’s Global Data Centre organisation, responsible for evaluating emerging technologies, developing future infrastructure and supporting the evolution of next-generation mission critical systems.

Working alongside Global Solutions Architects, Engineering and Product Management, the role applies engineering expertise, technology foresight to assess future trends, validate new concepts and influence Eaton’s long-term technical direction.

The role is primarily focused on future capability development rather than design delivery, while maintaining a strong engineering foundation through technical evaluation, validation and engineering studies.

What you’ll do:

Future Technologies \& Innovation

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and future data centre architectures.
  • Research technology trends across AI infrastructure, power systems, cooling, digital infrastructure and grid integration.
  • Assess the technical readiness and engineering feasibility of future technologies.
  • Support proof-of-concept activities and innovation programmes.

Engineering \& Technical Validation

  • Apply engineering principles to validate future system concepts.
  • Develop engineering studies, technical assessments and technology evaluations.
  • Ensure future concepts remain technically robust, practical and deployable.
  • Support the transition of validated concepts into future engineering standards and methodologies.

Industry \& Technical Leadership

  • Support Global Solutions Architects through technical design, research and strategic analysis.
  • Engage with technology partners, consultants, standards bodies and industry forums.
  • Produce technical papers, white papers and future technology recommendations. Share technical insight across Engineering, Product Management and Technology teams.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; Master’s preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer (preferred). Minimum 10 years’ experience in mission critical infrastructure, power systems or data centre engineering.
  • Skills:

  • Strong engineering compentency in electrical infrastructure, power distribution and integrated systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate emerging technologies using sound engineering judgement.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and technical writing skills.
  • Proven curiosity, innovation mindset and commitment to continuous learning.
  • Experience with Nvidia or AMD is highly appreciated
  • Proficiency in English
