About the Role

Responsible to lead the discovery, rapid prototyping and applied experimentation of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies that convert business ideas into working concepts, proofs of values (PoVs), minimum viable products (MVPs) and pilots. This role leads the Rapid Prototyping stream within the QRG innovation team, translating frontier technologies into tangible, value-driven outcomes for QRG. The role works closely with cross-functional teams, business owners and ecosystem partners to identify high-value use cases, build and test solutions at speed, validate their business impact, and accelerate the adoption and scale-up of the most promising innovations. The role is also responsible to continuously scan, evaluate and apply the latest advancements in AI, data and frontier technologies to drive innovation..

Your duties would include:

• Rapidly design, build and test prototypes, proofs of values (PoVs) and minimum viable products (MVPs) that convert business ideas and emerging technologies into working, demonstrable solutions.
• Lead hands-on development across AI, data, software and connected hardware (IoT), including sensors, edge devices and embedded systems, to validate new concepts in real operational environments.
• Collaborate with business teams to identify, frame and prioritise high-value use cases, applying valuedriven thinking to focus effort on ideas with the strongest business impact and return.
• Apply advanced AI and machine learning techniques, including generative AI, large language models, action models and enterprise assets, to create innovative, deployable data and technology products.
• Define and evaluate appropriate performance and value metrics for prototypes, iteratively enhancing solutions through rapid test-and-learn cycles to achieve the desired level of performance and business value.
• Scout, evaluate and experiment with frontier and emerging technologies (e.g., AI, IoT and connected hardware, automation, robotics, digital twins and other advanced technologies) to assess their applicability and value for QRG.
• Translate successful PoVs into production-ready solutions by collaborating with software developers, data engineers, hardware specialists and business owners to enable adoption and scale-up.
• Analyse large and complex data sets to uncover trends, patterns and insights that inform prototyping priorities and identify opportunities for business improvement.
• Communicate technical concepts, prototype outcomes and business value effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage change and embed validated AI, data and frontier technology solutions into business processes.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in applied AI, emerging technologies and rapid prototyping methods, applying innovative techniques to solve real-world problems.
• Ensure compliance with QRG IT Service Management (ISO 20000 framework) and Information Security Management (ISO 27001 framework) Systems and support/achieve its applicable/assigned Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Manage the complete lifecycle of assigned prototyping and innovation projects to ensure they are delivered within the agreed scope, time and cost.
• Support line manager in development of long-term strategy that is aligned with business objectives.

Qualification

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join our IT Team. The ideal candidate should possess the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 6 years of job-related experience

Essential

• Strong hands-on prototyping and building skills, able to rapidly develop PoVs, MVPs and pilots and iterate through test-and-learn cycles
• Proficiency with applied AI and machine learning, including generative AI, large language models, transfer learning, optimization and model development.
• Proficiency in modern AI-assisted "vibe coding" and agentic AI development, using AI coding tools and autonomous/multi-agent frameworks to rapidly build, orchestrate and iterate working solutions.
• Strong prompt, context and loop engineering skills, designing reliable prompts, managing context, and building iterative agent loops for robust AI solutions.
• Hands-on cloud solution design and deployment across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including AI and data services
• Working knowledge of connected hardware and IoT, including edge computing, sensors and integration of hardware with AI and data solutions.
• Proficiency with Data Mining, Mathematics and Statistical Analysis, and sound knowledge of data profiling, data quality measurement and cleaning.
• Value-driven thinking, with the ability to identify high-value use cases, prioritise effort and articulate business impact and return on innovation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for exploring complex data and technology challenges.
• Command of English language.
• Passionate for AI and frontier technologies, staying up to date with the latest trends and developments in the field.

Preferred:

• PMP or equivalent certification in project management
• ITIL certification
• Microsoft Azure, Google GCP Certifications (e.g., Azure AI Engineer)
• Hands-on experience building and testing connected hardware / IoT solutions (e.g., sensors, edge devices, microcontrollers or embedded systems) is an advantage
