Reporting to the Manager, Security Operations, this role:* Performs activities, including liaison with Victoria Police and overseeing Government House security team, which assist to provide a secure environment for residents, staff and visitors in a timely and effective manner. * Assists with management of security incidents for the Office of the Governor. * Provides Project Management support on security projects. * Participates in the development and management of security maintenance programs. * Participates in the supervision of the day-to-day operations and other security tasks at Government House. * Is responsible for maintaining the central repository and participating in annual access audits. * Undertakes security assessments and prepares recommendations to enhance security.
About you To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:* Demonstrated experience in a policing and/or security related industry with sound knowledge of and delivery of security requirements for buildings, events, incident management and personal safety and security in a confidential environment. * Demonstrated working knowledge of security systems, equipment and devices, such as access control and CCTV. * Sound communication (both written and oral), diplomacy, negotiation and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on understanding, assessing and responding to organisational needs in a positive, friendly and efficient manner whilst managing expectations.
Desirable requirement* A relevant tertiary qualification such as Diploma of Security and Risk Management is desirable but not mandatory.
Other relevant skills* Knowledge of contract management processes * Experience in Project Management * High level of competence in MS Office suite, intranet, internet and similar application and databases.
Key points to note As the Office of the Governor Security Team operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, this position may on occasion be required to work outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, particularly during functions and events.
