About the Role Information Security generates a massive amount of data, but data without context is just noise. We are building a brand-new Security Automation team dedicated to treating security metrics and workflows as highly reliable software products.

As a founding engineer on this team, you will not be staring at alerts or chasing down developers to patch servers. Your mission is to write the code that does that for us. Working closely with a dedicated Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will build the automated data pipelines, API integrations, and event-driven workflows that connect our multi-cloud infrastructure to our business goals. You will be the connective tissue between our security scanners, our IT platforms (ServiceNow, Jira), and our business intelligence dashboards (Tableau).

What You Will Build (Responsibilities)

• The Metrics Pipeline: Architect and maintain Python-based ETL pipelines that extract data from security tools, public clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure), and private Kubernetes clusters, normalizing it for Tableau dashboards.
• Contextual Security: Write automation that bridges the gap between our rich private cloud CMDB and our public cloud infrastructure, automatically tagging and enriching assets to map them to critical business functions (e.g., Live, C2C Growth).
• Workflow Automation: Eliminate manual InfoSec toil by building integrations between vulnerability scanners, ServiceNow, and Jira to automate ticketing, SLA tracking, and developer notifications.
• Cloud Guardrails: Develop event-driven serverless functions to detect infrastructure drift, enforce "tagging as code," and automatically remediate misconfigurations in near real-time.
• AI Integration: Design and deploy secure, internal backend wrappers (FastAPI/Flask) to safely integrate ad-hoc LLM/AI tools into our security workflows.
• Engineering Excellence: Treat security automation like production software. You will write clean, well-documented code, enforce unit testing, and maintain our CI/CD pipelines.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

• Experience: 4+ years of software engineering, backend development, or highly technical DevSecOps experience.
• Core Languages: Expert-level proficiency in Python (specifically interacting with REST APIs and data manipulation libraries) and strong proficiency in SQL.
• Cloud \& Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and a solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture.
• Infrastructure as Code: Experience using Terraform to manage infrastructure and understanding of "Policy as Code" concepts.
• Development Practices: Deep comfort with Git, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI), containerization (Docker), and writing unit tests (PyTest).

Systems Thinking: Ability to understand complex data flows and design reliable architectures that handle rate limits, pagination, and API failures gracefully.
