Secondary School Physical and Health Education Teachers Needed!

Khalsa Secondary School is seeking candidates for Secondary School Physical and Health Education teachers for our Sikh faith - based school located on 10589 124 Street. Academic teachers do not have to be observers of the faith. Teachers from all diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply! We are an IB MYP authorized World School and an AP Level 2 school. We are a growing school with a lot of opportunities! Our teachers are supported and have a prep in each semester.

Currently, we have one Secondary School Physical and Health Education teacher opening for September 2026.

We recognize North American teaching experience.

Position 1: Secondary School Physical and Health Education Teacher

Start Date: September 1, 2026

• Active Living 12 (1 block)
• Active Living 11/12 (1 block)
• Physical and Health Education 10 (3 blocks)
• Physical and Health Education 8 (1 block)
• IB Physical and Health Education 8 (2 blocks)

Salary: Starting salary of $6600 per month. For CoQ teachers who are willing to teach IB, there is additional pay.

• This salary is only offered to Certificate of Qualification teachers or teachers who have a completed application with the Teacher Certification Branch (BC) for a CoQ

**Teaching experience from within Canada is recognized for a possible higher starting salary for CoQ teachers

Duties:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that adhere to the curriculum
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods to ensure all students understand the material
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Assess student progress and provide feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience
• Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
• BC teaching certification
• Proven experience teaching related subjects (preferrable)
• Strong organizational skills to manage lesson plans and grading effectively
• Excellent communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues
• Ability to tailor teaching methods for diverse learning styles

Skills:

• Proficient in proofreading educational materials
• Classroom management expertise
• Effective communication and writing skills
• Experience in tutoring or special education is a plus
• Strong organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently
