PurposeofRole

We are seeking a results driven Search Marketing Specialist to support the implementation of a robust multinational search strategy, with a particular focus on eight languages and localisations, helping to drive HBK’s digital success on a global scale.

The successful candidate will be responsible for continuously improving HBK’s visibility and rankings across all major search engines. This includes developing and implementing both on-site and off-site SEO strategies, following industry best practice across areas such as link building, technical SEO (front-end and back-end), Google Business Profile optimisation, and content performance. Regular reporting on search rankings and campaign performance will form a key part of the role.

Working closely with internal teams and external agencies, you will analyse organic search performance and collaborate with the Global Content Outreach team and wider marketing function to ensure all website content is fully optimised, aligned to brand guidelines, and reflective of the correct tone of voice. You will also support the delivery of engaging, on-brand visual assets and conduct A/B testing to continuously enhance digital performance.

The role will also involve overseeing integrated search campaigns, ensuring they are effectively managed, continuously optimised, and delivering maximum return on investment. This includes shaping both short- and long-term paid search strategies, overseeing campaign execution, analysing performance metrics, and managing associated budgets.

This position will be based in Porto, operating within a hybrid working model combining home and office-based working.

The Search Marketing Specialist will work closely with the global marketing team to deliver market-leading performance for our customers. You will also collaborate cross-functionally with departments including Sales, Product Management, Customer Care, and Finance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of a global search strategy, ensuring HBK maintains strong visibility across major search engines in all operating markets, driving incremental multi-channel sales and profitability
  • Manage paid search and digital marketing activities in collaboration with our global search agency and regional marketing and product teams, ensuring campaigns and content are localised, targeted, on-brand, within budget, and conversion-focused.
  • Work closely with regional, sector, customer experience, and marketing performance teams to identify actionable insights and improve digital platform performance and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with the global content team to ensure website content is fully optimised, engaging, and aligned with brand standards across all search engines and devices.
  • Manage day-to-day SEO and PPC requests from regional marketing and product teams.
  • Continuously improve marketing performance through A/B testing of organic content and PPC landing pages.
  • Drive high-quality and balanced organic and paid traffic to HBK’s global websites.

Professional Qualifications \& Experience

  • Degree-qualified in Marketing or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience in a similar role, with a proven track record in marketing.
  • Previous experience within a technical B2B organisation or within a production, manufacturing, or engineering environment would be advantageous.

Key Competencies

  • Proven experience managing PPC campaigns and a strong understanding of SEO best practices.
  • Strong hands-on experience with: Paid Search (SEM) Google Ads (Search, Display, and Performance Max) Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads) Conversion tracking and attribution tools, including GA4 and Google Tag Manager (GTM)
  • Strong SEO expertise, including: On-page optimisation (content, metadata, and internal linking) Keyword research and search intent mapping SEO platforms such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, or equivalent tools
  • Customer-focused mindset, with the ability to understand audience needs and how they prefer to consume content.
  • Adaptable and open to change, with the ability to adjust strategies quickly in response to performance and market trends.
  • Ability to work effectively to monthly, weekly, and daily deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in relation to content quality, visual presentation, and user engagement.
  • Resilient and tenacious, with the ability to accept and incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders.
