Primary Science Tutor
The Primary Science Tutor will help students understand scientific concepts, apply their knowledge to real-life situations, and develop effective examination-answering skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach primary Science topics across the main themes covered in the school syllabus.
- Explain scientific concepts using clear examples, demonstrations, diagrams, and real-life applications.
- Develop students’ observation, classification, comparison, analysis, and reasoning skills.
- Guide students in interpreting tables, graphs, diagrams, experiments, and scientific information.
- Teach students how to answer open-ended questions using accurate scientific keywords and complete explanations.
- Correct common misconceptions and strengthen students’ understanding of cause-and-effect relationships.
- Prepare topical worksheets, practice questions, homework, quizzes, and examination revision materials.
- Review students’ written answers and provide detailed feedback on scientific accuracy and answering techniques.
- Prepare upper-primary students for school examinations and the PSLE where applicable.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of primary-level Science.
- Familiar with the primary Science syllabus, practical concepts, and examination question types.
- Able to make scientific ideas interesting, understandable, and relevant to young learners.
- Skilled in teaching open-ended answering techniques and the use of scientific terminology.
- Patient, observant, and able to identify students’ misconceptions.
- Relevant Science teaching or tutoring experience is preferred.
Pay: $20.00 - $45.00 per hour
