We’re looking for an experienced, organised and confident Salon Supervisor / Front of House Lead to join our team at Sorella.
This is a hands-on role at the heart of a busy salon. You’ll help lead the front of house experience, support the smooth running of the salon day-to-day, and take responsibility for managing and supporting our apprentices while they are working in the salon.
This role would suit someone with previous experience managing a team, supervising staff or leading a busy front of house, retail, hospitality or customer-facing environment.
You do not need to be a hairdresser, but you must enjoy working with people, be confident giving direction, and be happy to get stuck in.
The Role
You’ll play a key part in making sure the salon runs smoothly, clients are looked after properly, and the team is supported throughout the day.
This includes:
— leading the front of house experience
— welcoming clients and ensuring they receive a high standard of care
— managing appointments, phone calls, messages and emails
— taking payments and end-of-day cashing up
— keeping the salon organised and running smoothly
— supporting communication between front of house, stylists, apprentices and management
— helping maintain high standards across the salon
— dealing confidently and professionally with client enquiries
— spotting issues before they become problems
A key part of this role will be supporting and managing our apprentices day-to-day while they are working in the salon. This includes helping organise their daily tasks, supporting high standards of cleaning, presentation and client care, giving clear, kind and constructive direction, feeding back to management where support, training or accountability is needed.
You won’t be expected to provide any hairdressing training, but you will help manage standards, behaviour, productivity and general salon support.
This is a hands-on salon role
This is not a desk-only management or reception role.
We are a busy, team-focused salon, so everyone helps keep the salon running smoothly. This role may include washing hair, sweeping, cleaning and keeping the salon presentable, helping with refreshments, towels, gowns and laundry, supporting stylists and apprentices where needed and helping wherever necessary to keep the day flowing.
We’re looking for someone who understands that high standards come from everyone taking responsibility.
Hours
We are open to either a full time or part time arrangement for the right candidate.
The role may include some Saturdays, and some evening cover may be required on Tuesdays or Thursdays.
Please include your availability when applying.
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience managing, supervising or leading a team is required.
We’re looking for someone who:
— has previous team management, supervisory or leadership experience
— is confident giving direction in a calm and professional way
— is warm, friendly and genuinely cares about people
— takes pride in high standards and doing things properly
— can stay organised and calm in a busy environment
— communicates confidently in person, on the phone and in messages
— is proactive and notices what needs doing
— is reliable, punctual and takes responsibility
— can support younger or less experienced team members
— is happy to be hands-on and get stuck in
— understands the importance of creating a great client experience
Salon experience would be helpful, but it isn’t essential. Experience in retail, hospitality, reception, customer service, spa, beauty or another busy people-focused environment would also be relevant.
