Creative Style W.L.L. is seeking a proactive Safety Officer to promote and maintain a safe working environment across its furniture manufacturing facility, joinery workshop, warehouses, and interior fit-out project sites. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with Bahrain's health and safety regulations, company HSE policies, and client-specific safety requirements while fostering a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor the company's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures across factory and project sites.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with Bahrain HSE regulations, client safety requirements, and company policies.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training for employees and subcontractors.
- Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce safe work practices.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing reports with recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure machinery, tools, lifting equipment, and work areas are maintained in a safe condition.
- Monitor high-risk activities, including hot works, working at height, confined space entry, lifting operations, and electrical work.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including evacuation drills and first aid arrangements.
- Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, permits, and statutory documentation.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Production, QA/QC, and HR to promote continuous safety improvement.
- Monitor housekeeping standards in the factory, warehouse, and project sites to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure environmental compliance, including proper waste disposal and safe handling of hazardous materials such as paints, solvents, adhesives, and chemicals used in furniture manufacturing.
Qualifications \& Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health \& Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, or an equivalent HSE certification is required.
- Minimum 3 years of HSE experience in furniture manufacturing, joinery, construction, or interior fit-out.
- Knowledge of Bahrain Labour Law and occupational health and safety regulations is preferred.
