Responsibilities

• Safely load, unload, and transport packages using various delivery vehicles such as box trucks or courier vans, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Drive assigned routes efficiently while maintaining compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and local traffic laws.
• Use manual handling techniques for heavy lifting and moving items, ensuring safe lifting practices at all times.
• Load and secure packages properly using equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary to prevent damage during transit.
• Deliver parcels directly to customers’ doorsteps with professionalism and excellent customer service skills, addressing any questions or concerns courteously.
• Conduct route driving with precision, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining awareness of road safety and traffic conditions.
• Assist in the loading and unloading process, ensuring proper weight handling in the workplace to prevent injuries or accidents.

Qualifications

• Prior warehouse experience or familiarity with logistics operations is preferred.
• Experience as a delivery driver or courier, especially involving box trucks or similar vehicles.
• Knowledge of safe lifting practices, manual handling procedures, and heavy lifting techniques.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
• Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks safely when required.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Understanding of DOT regulations related to commercial driving and route driving safety.
• Physical ability to move loads efficiently, including lifting heavy packages while following safe lifting practices.
