Job Summary
The Roaster Barista is responsible for roasting high-quality coffee beans, preparing exceptional coffee beverages, and delivering an outstanding guest experience in a modern lifestyle café. The role combines technical expertise in coffee roasting with hands-on barista skills, ensuring consistency, quality, and innovation in the café’s coffee program.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoffee Roasting
- Roast coffee beans according to established profiles and quality standards.
- Monitor roasting processes, including temperature, airflow, and development times.
- Evaluate roasted coffee through cupping sessions and quality assessments.
- Maintain roasting records and adjust profiles to ensure consistency.
- Manage green coffee inventory and coordinate bean ordering requirements.
- Ensure proper storage and freshness of both green and roasted coffee.
Barista Operations
- Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages, manual brews, cold brews, and specialty coffee drinks.
- Calibrate grinders and espresso machines to maintain beverage consistency.
- Perform latte art and present beverages according to café standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station.
- Follow all recipes, brewing standards, and quality procedures.
Customer Experience
- Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Educate customers about coffee origins, roasting processes, and brewing methods.
- Handle guest inquiries and special requests effectively.
- Contribute to creating a welcoming and memorable café experience.
Product Development
- Assist in developing signature coffee blends and seasonal beverages.
- Stay updated on specialty coffee trends and industry innovations.
- Participate in coffee tastings and staff training sessions.
