Job Summary:
The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, driving sales performance, and ensuring the retail outlet operates efficiently. This role involves engaging customers, understanding their needs, recommending suitable products, and maintaining a clean, organized, and attractive store environment. The Retail Sales Associate represents the company brand and contributes to achieving sales targets and customer satisfaction.
Roles \& Responsibilities:
Sales \& Customer Service:
- Greet customers promptly and professionally upon entering the store.
- Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products or solutions.
- Explain product features, pricing, promotions, and after-sales services clearly.
- Upsell and cross-sell products to maximize sales value.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback courteously and effectively.
- Provide accurate information to build customer trust and long-term relationships.
Store Operations:
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems for billing, payments, and returns.
- Ensure correct handling of cash, cards, and digital payments.
- Assist in stock receiving, replenishment, and inventory management.
- Ensure merchandise is displayed according to visual merchandising standards.
- Maintain store cleanliness, tidiness, and safety at all times.
Sales Performance \& Targets:
- Achieve individual and store sales targets and KPIs.
- Participate in sales campaigns, promotions, and product launches.
- Track daily sales performance and report issues to the Supervisor or Store Manager.
- Support team efforts to meet overall outlet performance goals.
Compliance \& Company Standards:
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
- Comply with retail operational guidelines, pricing policies, and SOPs.
- Follow loss prevention, security, and inventory control procedures.
- Attend required training and briefings as scheduled.
Requirements:
Education \& Experience:
- SPM and above.
- Prior experience in retail, sales, or customer service is an advantage.
- Fresh graduates and candidates without experience are welcome to apply.
Skills \& Knowledge:
- Basic communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (additional languages are an advantage).
- Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions.
- Familiarity with retail operations and POS systems is an advantage.
Personal Attributes:
- Customer-focused with a positive and friendly attitude.
- Willing to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Presentable, professional, and well-groomed.
- Physically fit to stand for long hours and handle merchandise.
