The Environmental Economics Unit support the development of health systems that are efficient, equitable, environmentally sustainable, and climate-resilient by focusing on both carbon resilient healthcare (mitigation) and climate resilient healthcare (adaptation) aspects of climate and health.
On the mitigation side, we aim to understand how the health sector contributes to environmental degradation and climate change and identify ways to reduce such impacts without compromising welfare (health and financial).
On the adaptation side, we focus on understanding how climate change and environmental degradation affect human health and health systems, as well as identifying cost-effective interventions to adapt to and reduce effects of climate change.
