Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

Troubleshoots mechanical and electrical equipment. Perform repairs to manufacturer specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Perform rental equipment preparation, inspections, and check-ins.

· Prepare used equipment for resale or addition to the rental fleet.

· Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Toyota and other makes of lift trucks and equipment.

· Work with the Parts Department to ensure job-specific parts are ordered in a timely manner via phone or email.

· Track work progress daily.

· Accurately and neatly document all services, completing required paperwork.

· Efficiently perform scheduled maintenance on rental equipment in accordance with company procedures and policies.

· Maintain accurate and complete service documentation.

· Follow all safety procedures and ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials.

· Perform additional duties as assigned by Rental Management.

· Maintain company service vehicle in a clean, orderly, and hazard-free condition.

· Secure and manage service tools and parts inventory within the service vehicle.

· Provide and maintain personal tools required to effectively perform equipment service duties.

· Strong Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

· Ability to work independently and think critically as situations require.

· Maintain regular and punctual attendance in accordance with company policies.

· All other duties assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· High School Diploma or GED required

· Effective communication skills with customers, coworkers, and management.

· Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

· Ability to read and understand service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.

· Ability to use electrical diagnostic instruments.

· Stay current with industry innovations to make sound recommendations to customers.

· Ability to safely operate power tools, lifts, hoists, hydraulic jacks, and overhead cranes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Familiarity in electrical/electronic systems, hydraulics, and internal combustion engines; ability to interpret schematics.

· Prior experience in lift truck repair, welding, and familiarity with testing equipment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT \& PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work Environment:

· Work is performed in a maintenance environment with potential equipment movement hazards, as well as exposure to chemicals and solvents requiring knowledge of proper safety procedures.

Physical Demands:

· Ability to perform strenuous physical work, including lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently; capable of sustained full-body movement (climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, etc.)
