About the Role
As an RVT, you’ll play an essential role in delivering high-quality medical and surgical care, supporting our veterinarians, and ensuring our patients have the best possible experience. You’ll use your skills, knowledge, and love of animals to make a meaningful difference every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients, including monitoring, administering medications, and performing treatments.
- Assist veterinarians during exams, surgeries, dentals, and anesthetic procedures.
- Perform laboratory diagnostics (bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal exams, cytology, etc.).
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Communicate effectively with clients about patient care, treatments, and home instructions in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Participate in inventory management, equipment maintenance, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
- Contribute positively to team morale, supporting a culture of respect, communication, and collaboration.
Qualifications
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) designation in good standing (or eligible for registration in Nova Scotia).
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of anesthesia, radiology, and laboratory procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Compassionate, dependable, and eager to grow and contribute to a supportive team.
