About the Role The Older Persons' Mental Health Inpatient Unit at Alexandra Hospital, provides psychiatric and geriatric care for the older members of our community. We aspire to provide high quality inpatient care to patients with acute mental health needs and/or complex age-related health conditions. We work in partnership with our patients, their families, the clinical team and community carers and supports to achieve the best possible health outcomes.
The role works 8-hour rotating shifts on a 2-on, 4-off roster pattern, Monday to Sunday.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Older Person's Mental Health is growing and developing service providing physical and mental health professional development opportunities for the right applicant. You will be joining a great team that values teamwork and is committed to supporting the best possible health outcomes for our elderly patients. You will work alongside our multidisciplinary team consisting of specialist nurses, health care assistants, occupational therapist, physio, social worker, psychiatrist and psychologist.
About you
You will have current NCNZ registration and practising certificate, with no conditions that exclude Mental Health Scope of Practice, and a minimum of one year's post-registration nursing experience is desirable.
