Registered Nurse - Neurosurgery

About the role

Join the Neurosurgery team on Ward 4 South West (4SW), a 32-bed surgical unit including a 13-bed High Dependency Unit (HDU), caring for patients undergoing elective and emergency neurosurgery and neurotrauma treatment.

As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver safe, evidence-based, patient-centred care to patients with complex cranial and spinal conditions. Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, you'll apply critical thinking and clinical judgement to support excellent patient outcomes while building advanced surgical nursing skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse looking to develop expertise in high-acuity surgical care. With the opportunity to work within the HDU in a supportive environment, you'll be supported by experienced clinicians and a dedicated education team to expand your knowledge, confidence and career opportunities.

Key Accountabilities

Provide safe, high-quality, person-centred nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in collaboration with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.

Deliver evidence-based nursing interventions and procedures in accordance with RMH policies, clinical standards and scope of practice.

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support effective care coordination and achieve positive patient outcomes.

Advocate for patients and contribute to health education, support and promotion activities.

Support the development of nursing staff, including undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate nurses, through clinical guidance and knowledge sharing.

About You

Ideally 2 years’ experience in acute experience

AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

A commitment to patient-centred care, safety, and continuous improvement

You enjoy working within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.

Experience in neurosurgery nursing is valued but not essential.
