CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required:
- High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.
Preferred:
- University degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management.
- Lodging sales experience.
- Account management experience.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
- Managing Sales Activities
- Identifying, developing, and managing business opportunities for group accommodation, meetings, incentives, conferences, and special events.
- Developing and implementing sales strategies aimed at maximizing revenue and market share within the group segment.
- Managing the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation through negotiation, contract signing, and post-sale follow-up.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, event planners, travel agencies, destination management companies, and key accounts.
- Preparing customized proposals, contracts, and presentations tailored to each client’s specific requirements.
- Conducting site inspections, hotel presentations, and sales appointments to showcase the hotel’s facilities and services.
- Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and emerging business opportunities to enhance sales performance.
- Working closely with Revenue Management teams to optimize pricing, availability, and profitability for group business.
- Collaborating with Events, Operations, and Catering teams to ensure seamless execution of contracted programs and events.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client, pipeline, and contract information within Marriott’s sales systems.
- Preparing sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses for leadership teams.
- Ensuring compliance with Marriott International sales standards, policies, and procedures.
- Contributing actively to the achievement and surpassing of revenue and production goals established by the hotel.
- Understands the overall market (e.g., competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc.) and knows how to sell against them.
- Partners with Sales to identify new group/catering business and achieve personal and property revenue goals.
- Provides expert knowledge on local destination (e.g., local attractions, events, etc.)
- Coordinates with all sales channels to educate selling engines on property attributes and business needs.
- Verifies echannels and websites are updated with accurate details about the property.
- Provides other sales support as needed, upon direction from General Manager (GM) or sales leadership, within the overall sales strategy
- Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.
- Serves the customer by understanding their needs and recommending the appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building a relationship and loyalty to Marriott.
- Drives customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
What we are looking for in you
- Previous experience in hotel sales, group sales, MICE, events, hospitality business development, or a similar commercial role.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

- A proactive, organized, and results-oriented approach to achieving business objectives.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market trends, sales reports, and business opportunities.
- Confidence working in international and multicultural environments.
- Experience using CRM platforms, hotel sales systems, and business development tools.
- Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple departments.
- Fluency in Italian and English; additional languages will be considered a strong advantage.
