QAQC Manager/Executive
Job Description

Position SummaryTo lead, plan, and manage the overall Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) operations. This role ensures that all stretch film products (such as hand rolls, machine rolls, jumbo rolls, or coreless stretch films) meet client technical specifications, packaging industry standards, and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.

Key Job Responsibilities1. Product \& Process Quality Control (QC)

  • Monitor Physical Specifications: Ensure precise film thickness (gauge control), roll width, weight, and film profile uniformity across the cast or blown extrusion lines.

2. Defect Troubleshooting \& CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action)

  • Minimize Film Defects: Actively detect and resolve extrusion defects such as gel spots, die lines, wrinkles/baggy edges, gauge bands, and winding issues (telescoping, uneven tension).
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Lead investigations using 8D Report, 5 Whys, or Ishikawa Diagram methodologies for customer complaints, claims, or field failures (e.g., film snapping on automated wrapping machines).

3. QMS Compliance, Audits \& Team Leadership

  • Maintain QMS Compliance: Maintain and update ISO 9001 certifications and ensure adherence to industry standard guides (such as ASTM D4649 for stretch wrap evaluation).
  • Team Leadership: Manage, train, and schedule shift rosters for QA/QC Engineers, Lab Technicians, and line QC Inspectors.
  • Scrap Reduction: Collaborate with the production manager to minimize plastic scrap generated during machine setup, changeovers, or recipe adjustments.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Polymer / Plastics Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, or a related scientific/technical field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing QA/QC, with at least 3 years specifically within the Plastic Film Extrusion industry (experience in stretch film, shrink film, or blown/cast film plants is highly preferred).
  • Technical Skills:
  • Deep understanding of polymer properties (specifically LLDPE, LDPE) and how extruder machine parameters affect film quality.
  • Proficient in operating laboratory equipment like Universal Testing Machines (UTM), MFI Testers, and online thickness gauges.
  • Certifications: ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or advanced quality management training is a major advantage.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month

Benefits:
