QA Engineer

Role Purpose:

Plan, design, automate and execute comprehensive quality assurance for Flutter-based mobile applications, web applications, backend services, APIs, databases and third-party integrations across iOS and Android. Ensure functional, usability, accessibility, compatibility, performance, security and production readiness through risk-based testing, modern automation frameworks and responsible use of AI-assisted testing tools.

Responsibilities:

Test Strategy and Planning

• Review requirements, user stories, designs and acceptance criteria for testability and completeness.
• Prepare risk-based test strategies, plans, estimates, traceability and entry/exit criteria for mobile, web, API and backend releases.

Functional and Non-Functional Testing

• Design and execute positive, negative, boundary, regression, integration, end-to-end and exploratory tests.
• Validate Flutter applications on iOS and Android, responsive web applications, backend services, databases, APIs and third-party integrations.
• Execute compatibility, accessibility, usability, performance, reliability and basic security testing across supported browsers, operating systems, devices and network conditions.
• Use appropriate tools such as JMeter or k6, accessibility scanners, device farms and browser developer tools.

Test Automation and AI-Assisted Quality Engineering

• Develop and maintain reliable automated suites using appropriate frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Appium, Flutter integration_test and API testing libraries.
• Apply maintainable patterns, stable selectors, reusable components, test data management, parallel execution and reporting.
• Use approved AI-assisted testing capabilities for test-case generation, coverage suggestions, failure analysis, visual validation and self-healing workflows, with human review and secure data handling.

Defect and Release Management

• Record clear, reproducible defects with evidence; determine severity and priority with stakeholders; retest fixes and monitor defect trends.
• Contribute to CI/CD quality gates, release-readiness reviews, go/no-go recommendations and post-release validation.
• Use DevOp tools for test plans, test cases, bug reporting and tracing requirements matrix.

Qualifications:

Necessary Knowledge and Experience to be able to do the job

• 5+ years of software quality assurance and testing experience for production mobile and web applications.
• Strong hands-on testing experience with Flutter applications and solid mobile testing knowledge across iOS and Android.
• Experience testing full-stack solutions including web front ends, backend services, REST/GraphQL APIs, databases and third-party integrations.
• Experience creating and maintaining automated functional, regression, integration and end-to-end test suites.
• Experience troubleshooting production issues and working within Agile delivery and CI/CD environments.
• Experience with large-scale or business-critical applications is preferred.

Education and Certification requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.
• Strong knowledge of software testing principles, SDLC/STLC, risk-based testing, test design techniques, traceability and defect lifecycle management.
• Automation skills in Playwright, Selenium or Cypress for web; Appium and Flutter integration_test for mobile; and Postman/Newman or equivalent for API testing.
• Knowledge of AI-based testing approaches including natural-language test authoring, AI-generated tests, self-healing automation, visual AI and AI-assisted failure analysis.

Job specific technical Skills

• Programming or scripting ability in Dart, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python or Java, plus SQL and database validation skills.
• Experience integrating automated tests with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines, with reporting, logs and quality gates.
• Knowledge of cross-browser and real-device/cloud-device testing using services such as BrowserStack, Sauce Labs or equivalent.
• Knowledge of performance testing with JMeter, k6 or equivalent; accessibility testing against WCAG; and security testing concepts aligned with OWASP.
• Ability to assess test-tool suitability, licensing, security, data privacy and maintenance implications before adoption.
• Strong analytical, documentation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
