Job description
Property Finance Analyst
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Property Finance Analyst to join a successful and growing non-bank property finance business specialising in property development and investment finance.
The non-bank lending sector continues to grow as developers and investors seek flexible funding solutions outside the traditional banking sector. This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of property transactions, working alongside experienced professionals and contributing directly to lending and investment decisions.
The opportunity
You’ll work closely with senior decision-makers across the full life cycle of property transactions - from assessing new opportunities through to monitoring existing exposures.
- Building and maintaining detailed property development and investment financial models
- Analysing development feasibility, project costs, funding structures, cash flows and returns
- Assessing the underlying property, borrower and transaction to understand risk and downside scenarios
- Reviewing development budgets, valuations, sales evidence, debt structures and project assumptions
- Stress-testing transactions and identifying key sensitivities
- Preparing concise investment and credit analysis for senior decision-makers
- Monitoring existing loans and projects, identifying emerging risks and changes in performance
- Conducting market and comparable-property analysis
- Working with external advisers, valuers, developers and other stakeholders to validate assumptions
- Continuously improving analytical tools, models and processes
About You
The successful candidate will be highly analytical, commercially minded and comfortable working with a high degree of independence.
You’re likely to have:
- Strong financial modelling skills, ideally with experience building models from scratch rather than simply operating existing templates
- Excellent Excel skills and a strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow and investment returns
- An ability to understand property transactions and translate complex information into a clear financial view
- The confidence to challenge assumptions and ask the right questions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage your own workload and make progress without needing constant direction
- A genuine interest in property, finance and investment
Experience in property finance, investment banking, corporate finance, funds management, transaction advisory, property development or a similar analytical environment would be highly relevant.
