The Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful planning, eecution, and delivery of medium to large-scale projects that support CIHI’s business objectives. This role involves developing detailed project plans, managing budgets, schedules, resources, risks, and stakeholder engagement. The Project Manager leads multidisciplinary teams through a matri organization, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. This role also supports portfolio management practices and promotes project management best practices across the organization.
This posting will be used to staff two contract positions: one ending on March 31, 2027, and the other with a one-year term.
1. Develop and maintain project charters, detailed plans, and implementation activities in alignment with CIHI’s project management standards.
2. Lead project lifecycle activities including initiation, planning, eecution, monitoring, controlling, and closing.
3. Manage project budgets, resource plans, forecasts, and reporting.
4. Liaise with functional authorities to secure technical, business, and corporate support resources.
5. Monitor and manage project risks, issues, scope, schedule, and budget; recommend corrective actions as needed.
6. Facilitate stakeholder engagement and communication, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding issues.
7. Produce project artifacts and reports to communicate project status, progress, and health.
8. Lead lessons learned reviews and support operational transition at project closure.
9. Support the enhancement of portfolio management practices including portfolio definition, value optimization, and monitoring.
10. Act as a project management ambassador, contributing to the evolution of project management discipline and training within the organization.
11. Apply Agile methodologies and support Agile project management practices.
